umm..its way bigger then that.
You mean GB carts? Because GBA carts arnt long at all.
3 of them next to eachother is still much smaller then, say, a single playing card.
And if you did mean GBA carts, but laying them the other way, that cant be right either because even the DSphat is only 2.5 of them wide.
I mean like this:

Last game played:
Age of Empires III

I was hoping that after two years of thinking how much it sucked I might vaguely like it.
Alas, it was worse than I remembered. What a way to mess up a good gaming series.

Finished Spider-Man 2 for the PS2.
Even though it's not very sophisticated in terms of missions, "random encounters" the overall presentation, it was still really fun, just like with Just Cause, I really enjoy exploring a sandbox world without being limited by typical human abilities (unlike GTA games). It was also really nice seeing a virtual version of NYC, especially after I've been there and recognize some locations.
It's a shame that once you complete the main story you don't really feel like going on, it's just a collection of more random crimes you've surely encountered already and some missions where you need to race from A to B in different variations (deliver a pizza, take pictures for the Daily Bugle, etc.).

oh, yes, Spiderman2 on consoles was excelent. I played a lot of the cube version.
Got a great rush when you jump down from a tall building only to swing away at the last moment.
Really fun controlls.

Too bad the games following it went downhill again.

Yeah, today I tried some of Spider-Man 3. I was hoping for more of the same with the addition of the black suit, but they completely messed up the controls, web swinging is really annoying and fighting feels a bit choppy. I doubt I'll bother with that one, and it's a shame because 2 left me wanting so much more.

Started Beyond Good & Evil for the 3rd time, this time on the PS2, and actually completed it this time. My first two times were on the PC and I experienced lots of technical issues that just took the fun out of the game. I was surprised to find out that even on a console they messed up the sound, too often I had a sound effect stuck in a loop which I'd hear till I left the scene or reloaded my save. Also sometimes the conversations were a bit out of sync, something that I experienced also with the PC version.

Anyway like I said, this time I finished the game, and surprisingly it wasn't very big. When I first left the lighthouse I thought "Wow, this is going to be long and deep", and I had lots of fun taking pictures of the animals. Now I realize the game map is relatively small for a semi-sandbox game (Hillys, the factory, the slaughterhouse, the black isle and the moon are the only large locations) and there aren't so many animals to take pictures of (I finished the game in ~10 hours and if I'm not mistaken I'm not missing more than 5 animals).
I also didn't like the fact that the pearls looked so precious at first, but towards the end I managed to access locations that threw them at me like nothing. I was sure I'm going to hardly manage with the amount of pearls needed to buy ship parts, but I ended up having 13 more than I needed.

On a more positive note, even though the gameplay ends up being extremely basic, it's still fun and it's nice to play a game that doesn't require complicated combos in order to fight and going too much out of your way to reach a certain goal. Also even though the plot didn't deliver any real twists or depth, and while I was kind of bored till the end of the factory (playing it over a period of ~2-3 weeks), afterwards the game picked up, and I think about 40% of it I played just today.

Uh, yeah. That's it.
Pretty good, and it's indeed underrated but I wouldn't go all crazy about it like some people do.

Indeed. Anyways it's not underrated, it received like 9.0 points in popular sites like IGN and GAmespot. It was just a poor seller.

It's a nice game but that's it.

Anyways, I don't know you Rex, but the ending let me wanting for more.

Wow...I never pegged Shaffer for being so arrogant. O_o
I have much respect for DoubleFine and Shaffer,so this is quite shocking, but here he is just talking bullshit.

He honestly thinks that developers can all get their games made if they really really want it?
Well, maybe if they don't want to eat and sale all their possessions and work for free...sure. But even then probably not.
Good grief...I couldn't believe what I was reading there. Is he being ironic Doesn't seem like it.

Getting action adventure games funded is extremal hard.
Getting generic fps funded is infinitely easier.

That is EXACTLY because of game sales, not the motivation of the teams. Getting published funding is hard. Hell, I bet most teams making adventure games are more enthusiastic and motivated then, say, teams making Fifa2million or whatever. (I somehow picture those games as being made by teams of depressed robots :P)

If games like BG&E or Okami sold well, we would be getting decent adventure games evey year, rather then every 5 years at best.

Its not a question of "we get nothing" its a question of we get a hell-of-a-lot-less of that genre because a lot of games just don't sale that well.

And this is before you even get to specific case's of quality developers just not being able to fund something at all (LBA3).
Sam and Max is less a demonstration of "in the end developers can get something made if they really really want it" and more a case of "digital distribution makes it easier to make money on things that don't sale that well". And while, yes, moving forward that means more and more things can get funded that wouldnt traditionaly, game sales still mater! (If a small team makes more money, they can make their next game bigger/longer/more detailed
etc)
And even then Sam&MaxSeason1 took a decade. Given long enough you probably will get a sequel to anything.

Tell him to call me back with theres adventure games coming out as often as World War2 FPS games, or Football sims. Then maybe he could make the augment that game sales dont mater.

In the meantime, I will campagn my hardest when I see quality original games released and ignored, especialy when being made by small teams that should be rewarded for their effort.(Soul Bubbles)

He exactly explains why you shouldn't interpret what he says as arrogance.

In short (at least how I understood it): He says that sales DO matter, and that there'll be a lot more good games if good games got funds. But with it, it doesn't matter how well good games sell "on the large scale", because artists can't depend on such a thing as sales. And as long as human nature will persist, good games will get made one way or another, with or without funds - so therefor you shouldn't worry about art getting halted on a global scale. And I agree.

That's the reason why I added the second part of the sentence. I heard quite a few people criticize the shallow gameplay and lack of difficulty in BG&E.

Well, difficulty could be better in BG&E...its easy then spikes at the end.

Worryingly Ubisoft is saying the sequal will be easier

.
It was precisely the explanation that follows was arrogant, and my points were particialy countering the argument he put forward in that passage.
I havnt even read the original story that he is refuting.

Theres a whole other angle I could take that his assumption that developers making quality games wouldnt follow it up with another quality game if there first was financially successfull...I mean...wtf.
Thats why I want games I love to succeed because I'm sure the developer will make a quality games following it, sequal or not.

oh, just fantastic, more games I'm behind in. :P

Locks Quest(DS) - Sadly not a Lost spin-off. Resonably decent isometrix tower-defence game mixed with RPG elements. Nice styled cutscenes. Seems to have nice varience so far, but I guess it might get repedative later. Still, I got it for 10euros and it seems worth that.

I played the demo of Lock's Quest when it was on the Nintendo Channel on the Wii, and it really offered a lot of gameplay and was overall quite nice. You could get a good hour of gameplay out of just the demo.

Wallace & Gromit is awesome so far. It's like it was always meant to be a computer game, and all the Wallace & Gromit movies were just the intro.

After BG&E I went on to playing Okami (with my post-intro save that apparently already had 18 minutes game time without doing a single thing).
At first it was nice but I didn't really go crazy for it, but things are starting to pick up. It started was a slightly stronger feeling of fun in the first large open location (where you have the dojo and fireworks guy), and I'm officially hooked in since that cave where you need to save the kid's dog.
The only thing that bothers me now is that while it's nice to get help from that bug guy, it's not very satisfying when he doesn't even give you a chance to figure out something on your own, and tells you in red text pretty much exactly what needs to be done now.

recently i took part in a play based on Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient express (i played Masterman for those who know it) ... It's been my first time i took part in a drama seriously, and I didn't expect how it was sad and nostalgic after all tries and after all 3 stage plays... so well... i got ill and found myself with nothing to do.

first I re-played Murder on the Orient Express.. but everytime I recognized a sentence that was the same also in the play i got sad, so i stopped playing this one, and decided to replay And There Were None. Finished again And There Were None, and then I also finished Murder on the Orient Express. Both games are nice... perhaps they are too linear... they have something that somewhat prevents me to say that they are actually Adventure games... they look more like an "interactive movie" :P

Now I'm playing Agatha Christie - Evil Under The Sun for the first time... this looks much more an adventure game, and it also has a good round of humor! And then I have the Death on the Nile addon too. :P
