Fast moving enemies are much less scary, imo.
The relentlesslyness of being pursued in the village, or when theres dozens attacking you in that house is more intense.

I'm planning on playing the entire series.
Finished Monkey Island 2 last night.
To be honest, I got a bit bored with it, and I used a walkthrough quite a few times. Some of the puzzles just didn't make any sense...
Spoiler:
Come on, picking up a monkey and using it as a handle?

Gonna start Monkey Island 3 soon, and keep playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

The third one is the best in the series in my opinion.

Monkey Island 1 and 2 are boring, 1 was the worst imo.

But I would think it was great in comparison with other games at that time.

The third game might be a lot better though, since it is on CD and I assume has speech.

MI1 was hella fun.
MI2 was.. weird.
MI3 was innovative.
MI4 was boring.

They all have something different!

I never found Mi4 boring, just missbalanced. A lot too easy, and the monkey kombat thing just far too abstract and repedative.

Still was darn funny though.

Mi2 was certainly weird, second that.

MI1 was fun.
I hardly remember MI3 (finished it a few years ago), but I remember it to have been fun as well.

Eh, I'm really a fan of point and click games. Someone persuaded me to get the first Monkey Island the other day. I didn't really enjoy it, and got about as far as the tavern with the pirates in.

Back to the original topic; I am proud to say that the last game I played was LBA 2.

I actually agree about the Monkey Island thing, 1 and 2 didn't really take my heart but 3 was just awesome.

anyway, my friend gave me his "majesty: gold edition" CD and I tried it. What a piece of crap. I didn't even bother figuring out how you do anything in it, seemed like I couldn't interact with any of my units.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
After getting only to the first dungeon last time and then had to hand the game back, I can finally give it another try after my sister has bought it.

I think you should lower your expectations a tad if you want to enjoy the fourth one

I never finished EFMI because of that annoying Monkey Kombat.

It was decent although I don't really like a 3D interface and keyboard controls in quests.

Actually I played Grim Fandango last summer for the first time, and I got stuck in that forest a bit after the beginning, even when following a walkthrough I couldn't figure it out, there was this door to open and Manny kept saying it's not a good idea but I did everything else according to the walkthrough.

Anyway from my short experience with it, it was nice but I think it would've been better with mouse controls and maybe a more linear angle, or on the contrary the ability to move the camera around.

You are a traiter to the world of adventure gaming!
PS: Yes, The Curse of Monkey Island / Monkey Island 3 does have speech

Indeed, it was a GOOD GAME, but there was something wrong with it. It was too different. People had been expecting a Monkey Island game and they got something completely different. It didn't feel the same.

EDIT: Why have I wasted this post talking about Monkey Island?

I don't think MI4 sucks. It's slightly less good than the other 3, but it's still cool.

As for Grim Fandango, yeah, I guess it could have been nice with a mouse, but the controls usually work fine.
About that door, if you're talking about the one where Manny says he should "first assess the situation dam-side", you first need to enter there and kill the daemon beavers, and only after that use the key with the door.
