We dont know that for sure, as the scale is relative.

Besides, I thought an artical detailing the possibility of life on dual-star worlds was vagualy ontopic.

In the Zeelichian Twinsunian shop, where the dissidents hide, Twinsen is the size of an average chessboard tower, btw, there is a hidden NMP there.

Well hmm... in real life conditions I think the "real" Twinsun would not have any ice at all, as you can see the "habitable" zone is almost 1 Au wide, so a like 20k km variable in the planets equator distance from the pole won't change it's climate so dramatically that it will be frozen on the equator. Our real life Twinsun would most likely be a planet with no night or a twilight-like night, very violent weather also very tropical, and with(like the article said) at least two different types of vegetation.

hmz..I'm not so sure about that.
I think a frozen polar region is possible, even with such a small distance, it would just have to be a very precise positioning of the sun's.

After all water/ice is a phase change, not a gradual thing, so if the temperature would just dip low enough in that area.

That would make the rest of the planet very cold though.

Purhapes the best solution is to enginere a system with very small sun's that have a quite a short fall-off with their radition. So rather then two-sun's oribiting twinsun, there is in fact two "sun-like" things, yet which arnt required to be big enough for fusion.

ahh, but you see, we dont know that is an "average" chessboard tower

You see, its equaly likely the chessboard tower comes from a giant world then twinsen comes from a small one
Counter evidence, for instance, is that a charecter from Time Comando shows up and is the same scale as twinsen.

Of course, they could both be tiny.

Lol, But it's proabably an average Q-tips, since there's no huge for a huge Q-tips, but huge rooks can be used in an outdoor chess set.

Now Twinsen is the same size of a mosquito (I mean mosquibee). And the dissidents say it comes from a grabage like planet, that planet is Earth (Why isn't it called Water ?).

Indeed, I believe that is the key for people who doubted how to interpretate that exact scene. To me its clear that is the scene where they show the "treu" size of things. It's one of my favorites. ^_^

Ah, but what if we are the giants, and the rest of the inhabited universe is as small as twinsun
(after all, we have a sample range of 3 at least. Twinsun, Zeelich, and the planet were the tourists came from are aparently all the same size).

Yes, that very much makes no difference. Most of the living organisms on our planet are much smaller then we are too. So yeah, we are gaints even to our own habitat. Scale is in ways pretty relative I guess thats why we keep it practical and kinda base it on our own sizes.

Think we need the French to grasp a lot of these things. There are as far as I can tell no things in LBA1 that dictate a true sense of scale. Apart form the trees that look like plasic and such but that doesnt exclude anything. It's kept open as far as I know. So, to me, for that alone it was great to get behind that closet in LBA2.

Well, of course, it exists in another dimension were the whole rules of scale might be different.
Thus explaining all the bezire gravity, solar system and such.

Over-anyalising things is fun.
