@ xesf: Thank you. And thanks for the info and the links. I'll look into those files.

@Polaris: Thanks. Oh yes.

It's too bad that there's still no decompression program for AITD files like there are LBA1 and 2. Perhaps Zinc could write something again. It wouldn't be too difficult I'm sure. He's already got the source code, he'd just need to figure out the extraction for the other.

Happy to see a new face around here. Glad Xesf, and Polaris were able to help you. I didn't check this thread until now so my apologies for not getting back to you.

Looks like Xesf and Polaris have provided everything that you need as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks MrQuetch for the feedback.

If someone found a way to decompress the AITD game files and maybe even made a tool for editing/modifying them in order to make it possible to make AITD mods it would be most interesting.

I definitely agree. This is already very possible for the LBA games, and I've even made my own programs for a lot of things in LBA2.

I've made programs for altering terrain height maps (and even creating your own from scratch), changing terrain color, textures, and even mapping (which still need some good work done though), a sprite creator, and even a building and collision program (it's a 2d top down view so you can see where what goes). Once I can successfully load the LM2 files through GML, I should be able to do this same thing, but in 3d instead of 2d.

All of this is in another forum post regarding my work.

Good luck with the AITD content.

The link I gave has the decompressed code. It just need to be added into any other application and do the decompression.

Yes, I understand. Thanks very much. I'm looking into those files to see what I can do.

What compression algorithm does AITD use?
