We're not sure if it's possible only utilizing the LBA1 engine.

Naturally it's impossible, why would the LBA1 engine support a unused feature? Though Alexfont have shed some light by creating a actual LBA scene. Where he've managed to implement a feature where you can actually rotate FunFrock

We don't have the LBA1 source code unfortunately, but there are 2 RE projects.

Switching characters is actually something that the TGR team has actually already been thinking of, but so far it's a bit unclear whether it's possible at all.
