The Longest Journey -- Dreamfall

I didn't feel like this belonged in the other adventure thread as the game actually came out already.

Here are reviews from various sites:

IGN (74%): "Though Dreamfall: The Longest Journey retains a few of the best parts of the original, it tacked on a lot of unnecessary gameplay elements while stripping down traditional adventure mechanics, leading to a decidedly less satisfying experience." *Review written like the guy got dumped*

Gamespot (81%): "Dreamfall: The Longest Journey is, first and foremost, a great work of science fiction. Such a complex plot, endearing characters, and imaginative settings and situations are highly uncommon to gaming, or any medium for that matter. In an alternate reality somewhere, Dreamfall is a few hours longer and considered the greatest work of video game fiction ever made. "

GameSpy (100%): "As good as The Longest Journey was, the sequel simply outdoes it in almost every way. Dreamfall is an amazing journey that propels players into a world where science, magic, art, and music combine to make a whole much greater than the sum of its parts."

XboxAddict (96%): "This one is sure to garner just as many awards as its predecessor, and should become a staple in any gamers library. If any of you out there have a friend or acquaintance who just can’t understand why WE play video games…sit their !&%$@#* down in front of Dreamfall, and let the conversion begin!!!!" *Review written like the guy just got a girlfriend*

Official XBox Magazine (France) : Dreamfall is also the highest scoring game and cover feature in this months French official XBox magazine with an overall score of 16/20 (80%)

There's more:
1UP Review -- 40%:

"Edited down to a tight package this could probably make a pretty good machinima feature (or Sci-Fi original motion picture for that matter). But as a game, it fails."

Interestingly enough, this is what the same reviewer gave Indigo Prophecy:80%
"Indigo Prophecy has an undeniable sense of having begun life as a work of fiction; and one clearly capable of carrying a feature film at that...you'll remember the poignant moments as part of the story, not the actions you took that caused them to be played out."

Contradiction? I think, yes.

That's inconsistency. It means their reviews are probably not reliable.

The point wasn't to show the scores but the comments.

But yes, I think scores suck. I'm always into the reading than the counting.

I never, ever read reviews, I only do a quick search on the screeshots and a quick review of the story, to see if it's my type of a game. I always wan't to have an opinion of my own, and I never pay any atention to reviews, I think it's kinda pointless to read them.
Hmmm, about the first part of the game, I never new, that the soundtrack is free to download, wow:

"This is one of the best stories in gaming since Planescape Torment, and Zoe is one of the best leads, male or female. Her tale is as gripping as it is beautifully presented. If you care even slightly about the adventure genre or well-told stories in general, you owe it to yourself to play Dreamfall." --videogames.yahoo.com
