Mario Kart / Nintendo thread (yes, who else would make one?)

I was acctualy considering getting a gamecube and wondering what game to get with it.
But , I don't really like race games and I already own all of those Zelda games except for Zelda 2 for the NES. And we don't get Star Wars with it. So I'll probably buy something else.

I'm not a fan of Starwars Games, cos imo they're kinda lame, except the JK series.

As for GCn, I might just buy the Mariokart - Black GCN combo, as well as a memory card. The Zelda thing also appeals to me

I'm gonna get MK: DD tomorrow......, well probably. Don't forget I must choose between that and True Crime, Beyblade, XIII, Star Wars RSIII, 1080 and Billy Hatcher. Also, I still haven't found VJ, so it's on the list as well. Tough choices.........

Beyblade? XD Thats so shit, its like the dumbest thing. True Crime might be good, Star Wars games generally aren't anything to overhype, except Galaxies/JK/Knights of the Old Republic. XIII looks nice, as does Viewtiful Joe.

My 3 must get GCN games are:
1. SMB1/2
2. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
3. Zelda.

Darek, the Rogue Squadron games are very good! This one should be especially nice as it has the single player game from RS2 as a co-op feature I think.

Yes, and loads of Dog-fight options too!
They really pilled on the extra features in RS3:Rebel Strike.
(New Solo game, whole previous game as co-op, Dog fight, Speeder Race, and "classic" Star Wars games..)

You do get Star wars with it.

Game are giving them FREE.

There not brillent games, but they are 100% free when you buy the system. It was a good enough deal just with the £99 ZeldaCombo+MarioKart....but then they chucked in 2 other games as well.


And trust me, most people who dont like racing games still like mario kart
Its just....well...different

Since I'm not a PS2 hater, and since I own PS2 and GCN (and Dreamcast, but anyways ) my main concerns aren't graphics, its which port fits which controller best.

Ok, i just tried out Mario Karts multiplayer for the first time.
While intentialy disapointed with the bland multiplayer course's, i have discovered they are far better when your actualy playing.

The Bob-omb mode is possible the best thing ever™

The sooner people get BB adapters for their cubes the better, i wanna blast some people ;D

If I wanted to have super 3d more-than-8bit games, i'd use the computer! I would spend money with more HDs and memory.

Dude, thats the POINT of a gamecube/console.

Just like a GBC you just turn it on and play.

No boot-up, no installing,and all games with "GC" on it are garentied to work. (unlike PCs...)
You can have super-3D games and have it just turn on and play instantly.
(yup, Gamecube has tiny loading times)

And consoles are backwards comatble from now on, so you dont need to keep the old hardware.
Upgrade your GBC to a GBA or GBA SP, and it will still play GBC games! (and GB games for that mater).

How much did the GBC cost when it came out?
I think it was £80 no?

For £99 you get a home console, 3 new games and 4 old ones.
Seems much better value to me

Nope, when I was on holiday in Canada, I could chose between Buying Golden Sun2 and Advance Wars2. I chose GS,I have to buy Advance WArs sometimes... but I don't have money...

I got Golden Sun2 from "Thatz Entertainment", they also sale AW2 (and other imports).

They have a site, but theres a few stores around the uk too.

Ooo yes I had read about that in NGC a while ago, getting Double Dash!! (yes, must remember hose two exclamation marks!!) for Christmas though and I'll buy a GC adapter at that time too as I'll probably have enough money. I warn any challengers though that I was pretty formidable in Super Mario Kart with, uh.... Princess Toadstool
