Yes, part of the reason i loved the film is it never pretended to be more then what it was

I have no problem with serious films, or silly ones.
What i cant stand is silly ones that pretend to be serious >_<

I heard some of the concepts from Van Helsing came from the anime series Hellsing (can't be much a coincidence ), and the main dude of Van Helsing is based on Alucard from Hellsing.
I'd like to see it.

The Day After Tomorrow seems cool to watch in a cinema with real loud bassy sound, at least the trailer did .

Yeah... as the movie looks a lot like the anime/manga, I figured they were both based on a legend/book/something, but looks like the movie just copied a lot of stuff from the manga.

I am not sure what the route of the charecter is Van Helsing is, but it has been in countless old movies and books.

Heck, that charecter in Count-Duckular is the same charecter really

I dont think its a case of them copying Animé, its more likely they are all copying and putting their own "spin" on earlier storys.

Yes, well, he didn't like Reloaded so I don't listen to him

You all didn't read the link I posted... "The name Hellsing comes from the character of a similar name in Bram Stoker's Dracula, Abraham Van Helsing. The leader of Hellsing organization, Integra, is the great granddaughter of the grizzled professor. The lead male character is named Alucard (a deadly vampire with two huge guns), and fans spend hours debating whether or not Alucard is truly Dracula. Alucard mentions in episode nine that his name is an anagram; this is true: It's simply Dracula spelled backwards." The character design of Alucard is unique to the anime, and the character design of the movie's guy is VERY simmilar. Well, read the page and draw your own conclusions.

I just watched Pokémon: The First Movie, and it's good entertainment.
The climax was very touching I must say *sniff*

I've just seen The Day After Tomorrow.

DUDE

You have no idea how good this movie is. I actually was shaking half of if, and not only out of coldness (wink wink)

This is the absolute best movie I've seen for quite a while. It's a definite must see.

I watched Van Helsing last Sunday, I found it pretty nice.
Very entertaining.

1. PIrates of the Caribbean
2. The Mummy
3. Van Helsing

My favorite "not-so-mindless-yet-extremely-entertaining" movies list
I personally like The Mummy better than Van Helsing. Perhaps because Van Helsing was quite long, and I was tired when I watched it, or perhaps not - Van Helsing has a pretty dark atmosphere while The Mummy has a much lighter, more humorous one, which contributes for the overall fun.

Day After Tomorrow being good?

Nah, impossible o_O
(perhaps nice effects but I can't stand that eco-nonsense-talk)

I saw The Last Samurai the other day. I loved it Brilliant film, if not a little too mushy at the end. But still, I'd recommend it.
