3ds max7 problem

I have some trouble making big models. It seems like when I make big models, 3ds max gets lazy and only shows bounding boxes instead of my models when I move or rotate the view. Is there any solution to this? I find it quite irritating

okok, but is there some configuration thing wherein you can say 3ds max to use more of my memory? (it doesn't use it all)

This is an option. And can be found in a specific 3DSmax options window. I can't remember it perfectly but it's near the 'config driver' options.
I'll take a look tonight, but for now; I'm sure this doesn't have to do with your memory at all.
