Mixing both games together

I am currently 'getting' LBA... should have it in about half an hour.
I was going to attempt a LBA2 mod, the game completely re-made with a different story and everything.

BUT I have came up with a cleverer idea, and REALLY hope it is possible! Does LBA1 use the same files (HQR's and stuff) as LBA2? If this is the case, I want to put Zeelich and Emerald Moon into a modification of LBA1.. which would mean every place in LBA would be visitable.
If it does not use the same file system, is there any program to convert it? And if not, can you suggest any other way of doing this?

Thanks, please reply soon!

I would think there would be differences since LBA1 hasn't got any fully 3D areas like LBA2 does outdoors. All the areas in LBA1 are just images like the indoor areas in LBA2.

First plasma, you should play the game . You actually don't know LBA1, than you're expecting too much to be LBA2 like.

Anyway, if isn't possible, only somethings could be messed up together, like fonts, some inside scenes, sprites, and maybe few more.

What you really want to do, which is to give another planets into LBA1, won't be possible since you can't change the holomap. Anyway, you can build an entire planet, the only problem will be indeed the holomap which will always show Twinsun's Planet.

You can change the holomap looks. I've done it. Yet, I think it is that we can't choose where to be "mountains".

LBA Image creator can. Even your program can alexfont (image viewer).

But true. Adding planets won't be as easy.

I think both games' holomaps use the same system, in fact both "mountain"-data-file and 2d-image are the same size, if I remember right.

You misunderstand the first post. Plasma wanted to include more planets and not replacing Twinsun with another one, and my reply was concerning that. Of course I know we can change the holomap, but not what Plasma wanted to do .
