Well, most locations' articles are already written, but if you translate those into English, then I'll see if there's something worth adding .

Island of the Wannies

(With all the excitement on this board, I just had to write something.)

[stats]
Inhabitants: Wannies and Francos
Size: Large
Type: Lava
Transportation: Elevator from Platform and Ferryman

[official]

Sign:

Quote:
The island of the Wannies.
Sign:

Quote:
You are entering the domain of the Wannies.
Unknown:

Quote:
You're in the village of the Wannies.
[fan]

To the public of Zeelich there is only one way to get to the Undergas safely and that is by elevator. At the bottom of that elevator is the Island of the Wannies. This sprawling island is home to the wannies which they share with the Building Company, which built the elevator. On this island there is a large deposit of gems which can be refined into gazogem on the surface. Many of the wannies work tirelessly extracting these gems from the mines beneath the island.

[role]

The Island of the Wannies was Twinsen's first stop in the Undergas. After defeating Money-Monkey, Twinsen was able to ride the elevator down to this island. Here he accomplished many things such as finding the Wannies key fragment, learning the Ferryman's song, and having his first taste of firefly tart.

Sorry to inturupt, but I gotta point out one thing:

Your article is submitted in two tenses -- past and present.

I'm sorry to say it, but it kind of sounds awkward to say, for examples, that the wannies work tirelessly but Twinsen later freed them. That's kind of a paradox.

You have to pick a tense. Either present or past. Make a decision.

Hmm.. it actually makes sense to write like that:
The Wannies Island still exists, so the Fan section can be written in the present tense. However, Twinsen already did all the stuff there, and therefore the Role section should be in the past tense.

Here's the conflict: things, even settings change over time. You don't know how much of stuff is true by the end of LBA2. Maybe the wannies are no longer subjegated to slave labor..

Sorry, I'm not trying to strike up an arguement over details. I've just been seeing a lot of inconsistencies in other articles too. Sometimes everything is written in past tense, sometimes in present....I'm simply trying to establish a consistency.

I understand what you're saying with the tenses. But morshem is correct in saying that the Role section should be in past tense. Re-reading what I had in the Fan section, I didn't find anything suggesting two different tenses used.

I felt this sentence was a bit weird.
Quote:
This sprawling island is home to the wannies which they share with the Building Company, which built the elevator.
It could probably be reworked better.

And I've also wondered about the state of Zeelich after Twinsen left. I feel that writing about the locations as they were before he left is acceptable because we're unsure of the state of the entire planet at this point in time. Once LBA 3 comes out there will be lots of revisions.

Another point: I don't think the wannies were ever forced into slave labor. A job is a job, even if it's manual labor.

Book of Bu

[official]

Description at the Temple of Bu:

Quote:
" This book is a keeper of knowledge. It allows you to read the rocks and to talk to the animals. "
Inventory desctiption:

Quote:
Book of Bש (and PROPHECY). (ENTER) key. Used to read the prophecy. With this magical symbol, you have just earned the second level of power. You can now also read runes and talk to animals.
Extracts from the Book of Bu:

Quote:
"The day will come when someone from the present or future species will rise up and say, 'This world is mine from now on, and the key to all powers belongs to me!' This day will surely come because avarice and violence harbor in the hearts of all species of the universe. If the peril on this day is too great, the Chosen One will come forth. He will rise up against the tyrant and overthrow him. He will free and reunite the people, because throughout the years, the Chosen One's ancestors will have prepared him for his victory. They will have left information and weapons in his dwelling. The Chosen One, also known as the Heir, will, however, have to gather together four magical symbols if he hopes to be victorious: the Tunic, the Book of Bש, Sendell's Medallion and a Flask of Clear Water. On the day of peril Sendell will visit the Heir in his sleep and announce the coming of the final combat. The Heir will then have to go to the Well of Sendell where the goddess will endow her powers on him! "
Wise rabbibunny:

Quote:
Very strange indeed. I'm just an old fool who would like to grow flowers in the desert, but... I know about this Legend that Dr. FunFrock forbade. I'll tell you what I know if you bring me a sacred book. It is in the Temple of Bש which was buried by a violent sand storm. You can still get in, however, through one of the ventilation shafts still visible just behind me. But be careful: there is danger everywhere!
Quote:
Only the Heir could have survived in that Temple! You are the Chosen One that the prophecy spoke of. You are worthy of keeping the Book of Bש, Twinsen. It will allow you to decipher the runes and to speak to the animals. The prophecy that must be accomplished is also revealed in its pages: you must overthrow Dr. FunFrock, the despot who has destroyed the harmony that once existed on this planet. In my dreams, I saw him profaning the Well of Sendell, which caused the immediate destruction of this world. You must go to the Well of Sendell to save us from Dr. FunFrock. I don't know where this well is, but your ancestors must have left instructions for you, somewhere in your home.
Twinsen:

Quote:
Here's your book.
When getting the book:

Quote:
You've just earned the second level of Magic by finding the Book of Bש.
Twinsen at Ms. Bloop's museum:

Quote:
"Book of Bש. It allows me to speak with the animals of Twinsun."
[fan]

Down at the peaceful museum of Ms. Bloop in Lupin-Burg, lies the Book of Bu. Although innocent-looking, a great history lies behind this book, which played a major role in Twinsen's first adventure.
The book, as explained in its pages, is one of the four magical items that were needed to be collected by the Heir, for him to achieve victory. Furthermore, the owner of the book fastly becomes reach in knowledge, as the book enables its possessor to talk with the animals of Twinsn, as well as to read the ancient language of Twinsun, Runic.
A further looking at this sacred book reveals even more interesting details. For example, it tells the exact prophecy of Sendell, and describes clearly the events that post factum did happen at Twinsen's adventure. From this book, Twinsen learned his actual destiny: to overthrow the tyrant - Dr. FunFrock.

[role]

When we review Twinsen's journey, we found out that retrieving the Book of Bu was not an original purpose for the Quetch. However, as soon as he did find it, his whole adventure took out a new, different route.
After reading a rare book at Principal Island's censored publications area, Twinsen made his steps to the Island of the White Leaf Desert. There, he met the old hermit, a nameless rabbibunny who was most likely the smartest of his kind on the entire planet. That hermit told Twinsen that he knows about the so-called "Legend" that FunFrock really fears. He then sent the quetch to the Temple of Bu, to fetch him the sacred Book of Bu. If he returns safely, our hero was guaranteed, he will then hear from the wise bunny all that he has to know about the Legend. After a long time of getting through all troubles and obstacles of the Temple, Twinsen finally made it to the last room. There, surrounded by old dead-yet-alive rabbibunnies skeletons, he found, spinning in air, the desired book. Twinsen could try killing the skeleton enemies, but a better idea came to his mind. Instead of trying to fight his opponents, the quetch ran straight to the holy book. Then, suddenly, a marvellous thing happened. The skeletons, apparently worshipping the book, stopped fighting Twinsen, and started all bowing to him.
Ater he got out of the temple, Twinsen passed the old book to the rabbibunny, who was still sitting outside, waiting for him. At this act, the hermit figured that Twinsen must be the Heir the prophecy speaks of, as only him could survive in this dangerous temple. Appreciating this, the old rabbi told Twinsen everything about the Legend, and sent him to his own house to continue his important quest.
Additionally, Twinsen was then able to speak with the animals of the planet, and also read Runic, two features that gave the brave quetch more power over his enemies.

[theories]

The origin of the Book is unknown. It might be just like the Earthly bible, whose writer is unknwon, although the Twinsunian divinity is more tangible than the Earthly one. Another possibility is that the write of the book was Bu himself, although absolutely nothing is known about him to nowadays Twinsunians.

[trivia]

At the end of his first adventure, no longer needing the book, Twinsen contributed it to Ms. Bloop's private museum. There, visitors from all over the planet come and witness the items and objects that were vital at Twinsen's quest. However, Twinsen was still able to speak with the animals of Twinsen, even after giving the book away.

Ancestral Tunic

[official]

When Twinsen found the tunic in his first adventure, he heard a voice in his mind:

Quote:
You've just earned the first level of Magic by finding the Tunic left for you by your ancestors. You will be able to store up magic with it.
When examining the item, this is what he heard:

Quote:
Tunic. With this magical symbol, you have just earned the first level of power.
In the Book of Bu, Twinsen found this passage:

When retrieving the magic ball in his second adventure, Twinsen heard this voice:

Quote:
You just found your Magic Ball! When you wear your ancestral Tunic you'll be able to bounce it at your enemies!
And when founding the tunic, as well as the medallion, he heard:

Quote:
You have just found your ancestral Tunic and Sendell's Medallion. By storing Magic, it will enable you to bounce your ball at your enemies.
And this is what he heard when examining the tunic:

Quote:
Tunic and Sendell's Medallion
And the magic ball:

Quote:
You can throw the Magic Ball and make it bounce in different ways: For that, you need the Tunic since it allows you to store Magic power that the Ball consumes at each throw.
Once owning the two spells, he was also able to read those:

Quote:
This Tunic, bequeathed by your ancestors, will help you store Magic power. Some is consumed each time you use a magical object, such as your ball. In order to use them, you must find enough Magic and carry it with you.
Quote:
This Tunic, bequeathed by your ancestors, now gives you protection besides storing Magic. To use the shielding spell, press Enter from the Inventory. This spell consumes some Magic, just like throwing the Ball and using several other magic objects.
[fan]

As described in the Book of Bu, was one of the four items required by the Heir to be collected for him to ensure victory against the designated tyrant. This magical tunic was kept for centuries upon centuries in a secret closet at the house of the Heir's acnestors, and kept it safe for the time when the Chosen One will be needing it.
This Ancestral Tunic, as suggested earlier, is a great source of magic. Whoever wears it, in a way that every tunic is being worn, is able to store an enormous amount of magic power, which is vital for defeating his enemies. The amount of magic available for storage depneds on the owner's level of magic, and can range from Yellow to Fire.
Combined with the Magic Ball, which was also kept in the secret closet at The Heir's house, these two magical items make together an extremely powerful combination, which would almost certainly ensure anyone success in his mission.
The tunic is coloured blue, probably to symbolize the close relationships with the Sendells and the prophecy, who are also blue. Additionally, blue is a colour of hope, which might be another explanation for the colour choice.

[role]

Escaping from the asylum at the very beginnig of his first adventure, Twinsen made it to his and Zoe's house. Before he managed to do anything, two grobo clones knocked on the door, and captured Zoe just after Twinsen managed to hide. After their disappearance, it took Twinsen a little exploration around the house to find what he was looking for- the closet at which the Ancestral Tunic, as well as the magic ball, was kept. Putting it on, Twinsen immediately became powerful, as he was now able to store magic, thus using his magic ball. This tunic, which Twinsen kept until the end of his adventure, proved very powerful, and ensured Twinsen his success in defeating the evil FunFrock.
At the end of his first adventure, Twinsen has contributed the tunic to Ms. Bloop's growing museum, which might have indicated that he was prepared to rest a bit from adventures for the close while. He has also left a note in his house to his future descendants: "To my future descendants: I have lent to Miss Bloop's private museum, the Medallion and the Ancestral Tunic which rightfully belong to you. Signed: Twinsen."
However, having to free Raph the lighthouse keeper, and, later on, the entire planet, Twinsen very quickly found the tunic necessary again. Going to the museum to reclaim the tunic, he found out that the room at which the bell that opens the tunic's safe was locked. To get in, our hero had to sneak in through the museum's window, and thus opening the tunic's safe.
Just like at his first adventure, the tunic was Twinsen's primary object he carried with him, along with his magic ball. Apart from a short time, at which he walked around the planets with a Wizard's Parade Tunic, Twinsen carried the Ancestral Tunic with him until the end of his adventure, when he defeated, perhaps for the last time, the evil FunFrock.

Proto-pack

[official]

When getting the proto-pack in LBA 1:

Quote:
You now have the Proto-Pack.
LBA 1 invenory description:

Quote:
Proto-Pack. It is controlled with the arrow keys.
When getting the proto-pack in LBA 2:

Quote:
You just found the Proto-Pack. Put it on and you'll fly a few inches above the ground.
LBA 2 inventory description:

Quote:
It was designed by Jerome Baldino. In order to fly above water, you must approach at a low angle. Otherwise, you will sink with your Proto-Pack.
Jerome Baldino:

Quote:
I've been working on a Jet-Pack prototype for days now. It's a small reactor that harnesses onto your back and allows you to fly about. My problem is that my last test flight wreaked a bit of havoc on the garden wall. It is rather difficult to fine tune the motor's power. I need a rheostat like the one you find in a hair dryer. Do you think you can find one of those for me?
Quote:
Well it's not a Jet-Pack yet, it's still just a Proto-Pack. I would appreciate it if you could test it out to see how it works. You should be able to fly over the water if you approach it from a gently sloping beach. But don't jump! Will you test it for 10 Kashes?
Quote:
How's the Proto-Pack coming along? Keep testing, I have a bunch of calculations to finish up. And be careful when approaching water: you can only fly by coming in from a gently sloping beach.
Quote:
I've been working on a Jet-Pack prototype for days now. It's a small reactor that is harnessed on the back and allows its user to fly about. My problem is that my latest flight test wreaked havoc on my Southern wall. So I'd like to borrow the rheostat in your hair dryer to fine tune the power of the motors (from looking at your hairdo, I don't think you really need the dryer, anyway). And if that works, I will have a job offer for you.
Quote:
Hello! Twinsen? Baldino here! How are you? Looks like this transmitter works! If you swing by, I have a portable radio to give you. Also, I will have the proto-pack finished soon. It will allow you to fly in complete safety. Over.
Quote:
I could've called it an "integrated super dynamo circuitry mechanism" but I decided to go with "portable radio". A little catchier, huh? Incidentally, I'll let you know when the Proto-Pack is ready, it'll let you fly around in complete safety.
Quote:
Of course, but I will need this gazogem sooner or later. Besides, it will allow me to transform your protopack and increase its performance.
Quote:
You must go get me some gazogem, so that I can finish to repair our vessel and make your protopack more powerful!!
Quote:
Thanks, Twinsen. Now I can finish up on the ship. I'll buzz you on the radio as soon as I do the protopack.
Quote:
Hey there, don't forget my gazogem. I really need it to repair the vessel. And I think you'll really appreciate what it does to your protopack.
Quote:
Thank you, Twinsen. Now I can make us a ship that can race the comets! Anyway, here's something to turn your protopack into a superjetpack. and from now on, you can fly higher!
Quote:
Come in! Twinsen? It's me, Baldino! I've improved your protopack, you can come pick it up now!
Twinsen:

Quote:
No, Baldino left a little earlier for the emerald moon, where he'd noticed something was wrong. He left the proto-pack in working order downtown at the baggage claim, where you can pick it up.
Quote:
It seems Baldino is working on the proto-pack, maybe he's trying to improve it?
When getting the Super-Jetpack:

Quote:
Jerome just gave you the super-jetpack. It will allow you to reach places you couldn't get to using the proto-pack.
Super-Jetpack inventory description:

Quote:
It was put together by Jerome Baldino. It allows now you to access new locations and to follow some grades that were impracticable with the proto-pack.
Gazogem inventory description:

Quote:
After you give it to Jerome, this can of gazogem will allow your friend to turn your proto-pack into a super-jetpack.
[fan]

As Jerome Baldino explained to Twinsen when they first met, the proto-pack is a small reactor that goes upon one's back, and practically enables the person flying a few inches above the ground. As this is really a one-of-a-kind device, it is considered extremely powerful, and the owner of which can truly use it for his own advantage.
The process of making the proto-pack was kept secret by Baldino, and it is unknown how he built the device. All that is known, is that in order to fine tune to motor's power, a rehostat like the ones found in hairdryers is needed.
The proto-pack that was used in Twinsen's adventures is red coloured, with a dark-grey base. It is rather small, and suits perfectly to the back of an average quetch. No usage of other species was reported on the proto-pack, though.

[role]

Looking for the desired treausre of Leborgne during his first adventure, Twinsen has arrived to Proxima Island, where he met, for the first time, the scientist grobo Jerome Baldino. Jerome has introduced himself to Twinsen as a creator of "miscellaneous Gadgets and inventions", and told the quetch about his latest invention: the proto-pack. After obtaining a hairdryer, on Baldino's request, Twinsen was awarded with the proto-pack, along with 10 kashes he receievd for testing it.
The main use Twinsen had for the proto-pack, was at the Maritime Museum of Proxima Island. Since the alarm of the museum was on, Twinsen must have used the proto-pack, as the slightest step on the floor would sound the alarm, and in to time two clones would come there to beat him. After flying his way to the treasure at the end of the museum, Twinsen was eventually able to steal the key, and exit the museum before anyone noticed.
Another use for the proto-pack in the first adventure, was on Peg-Leg street at Principal Island. As Julia and Beatrice explained to him, Twinsen had to fly to island nearby the street, and thus get the clvoer box that was there.
Abother two useful places for the proto-pack were Desert Island's mooring point, where Twinsen used it in order to get straight to the mainland and back (as opposed to jumping from rock to rock), and in Dino-Fly Street at Tippett Island, trying to avoid the giant crab swimming in the water.

After the end of his first adventure, Twinsen gave the proto-pack back to Baldino, most likely because he thought he won't need it any more. Either way, Jerome has promised the quetch to fix and improve the proto-pack, and enable it to fly even higher.
However, it did take some time in Twinsen's second adventure until he managed to get the proto-pack. Only when he had to get the pearl of incandescence was he required to use this flying machine, as the spikes in the cave where the pearl was did not enable him reaching the pearl. But by that time, Baldino was already far away, on the Emerald Moon.
Since he knew Twinsen would need the proto-pack sooner or later, Jerome Baldino has left it for the quetch in the Baggage Claim building at Lupin-Burg. Once there, Twinsen had to solve a couple of puzzles, that included directing a crates-mover and pushing the crate along the lane, before the grobo in charge of the Baggage Claim could open the box for him. Twinsen then had the desired proto-pack, and was able to get to the Pearl of Incandescence.

Two planets later, after they crashed on Zeelich, Baldino has asked Twinsen to get him a can of gazogem, so that he could upgrade the proto-pack into a Super-Jetpack. Even though he was displeased with the request (as he was in a hurry to Island CX), Twinsen was eventually required to get the gazogem from the Gazogem Refinery (see Can of Gazogem), as he needed the super-jetpack in order to reach Otringal's Upper City, and meet Johnny Rocket there. Once getting Jerome the gazogem can, Twinsen immediately had the super-jetpack, that enabled him flying both higher and faster. Twinsen could still use the normal proto-pack, although it was no longer necessarry.

Good description, but:
I don't think the super-jetpack and the proto-pack are two different items... (where would baldino have all the parts to make a new one?)
The super-jetpack was probably a simple modification of the proto-pack, and baldino showed Twinsen how to convert it back and forth.

Like the name says, in LBA1 it's just an prototype (proto-pack). Baldino had in mind make an super-jetpack but in LBA1 Twinsen just testing it.

I think Schnitzel is right since in LBA2, as far as I remeber, Baldino transform the proto-pack into the super-jetpack.

Still, they're considered two different items...

- morshem: No, they're not. If I remember correctly, Baldino says to Twinsen, that the gazogem will improve his Proto-Pack. So Super Jet-Pack is just an improvement of the Proto-Pack, which Twinsen can, if he wants, change back to the Proto-Pack (when you have the Super Jet-Pack, even the Proto-Pack mode is still available).

I don't think so. So, do you think that in one second he can change the proto-pack back to the Super-Jetpack, and vice versa?
That's impossible.
