Do you have the thing you have with mbn with other online communities?

People who have the thing with mbn that I'm talking about will know what I mean. I think.

No, perhaps because I hardly visit any other on line communities. I bump in too the Ubuntu and Lazarus forums occasionally.

I for example sometimes just register to communities to say good luck to the members.

No, that'd be impossible. Also other online communities fail hard...

The MBN is part of my childhood. I guess this has to do with the thing you mentioned.

Hmm, well the MBN is the only forum is really visit too.
And also it has played a rather distrubingly big role in my life for an internet forum. (I.E. learning to type properly thanks to #lba, getting friends from abroad, learning about the internet, marrying online, finding new music, films and books, political and other kinds of debates, etc.)
Yep, this place kicks ass after all ^^

Nope. I am a member of tonnes of forums but I generally go on them to post stuff like photos etc and then leave again. This is the only place I stop to chat

No, I don't have the thing I have with (mostly) #lba with other online communities.

This is the only forum I have stuck to.
I joined a few others over time but I always lost interest in every one of them.

Reasons for this are
A] I guess most people who play LBA are rather intellegent according to this forum's members
B] This forum is merely for LBA, unlike other forums which are more general, and combine many games forums
C] because of B + the fact LBA isn't as popular like, lets say UT it doesn't attract as many come and go people. (whilst still growing somehow)

I suppose because it is a smaller community than a lot (while really quite big) it's easier to become a part of it which is always good.

I think we all can agree on that this is a little big forum then!

I never understand why people say that.
I don't think people here are more intelligent than many other forums I've been to.

I used to. In fact, even more so than with the MBN (*gasp*), as it was an even smaller community. But then it died . So I've become attached to the MBN instead.

Well the funny thing is that I also visit a way bigger (and Dutch) forum than this one (1,3 million posts, 13.000 members) and it is the other way around: I am one of the few guys there (Though at set up the forum wasn't meant to be a girl forum, the admins are still guys) I like both communities a lot

MBN is still my first and primary. Occasionaly theres interesting discusions, and the atmosphere is almost always pleasent here.

I don't think you can get too "close" to people on a forum, it's too slow so the conversation loses its...bonding effect.
IRC creates tighter relations.

Forums also have advantages over chats. You're always free to say what you want and as much as you want without interruptions, there's no time pressure so you can feel free to double check your message before sending (and double read other people's messages), and some more stuff.

I tried elsewhere, and inevitably, I keep coming back here.

The MBN rocks.
