How would you name all the remakes of LBA?
As we all know, great video games need lots of remakes, and this need will never stop. For example if the metaverse gets ready for prime time in 10 years, then we'll need an "LBA: Metaverse edition".
How would you name all these remakes? For LBA there already a few, and the names of them have caused controversy. The most boring way would be "LBA1: Classic", "LBA1: Remake 1", "LBA1: Remake 2", etc. For comparison, according to Styx we have for LBA1: Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Classic 1 Twinsen's Little Big Adventure 1 Remastered Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Reboot And for Final Fantasy VII, there are: Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy VII Remake Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Final Fantasy VII Reunion |

The FFVII names don't make more sense to be frank, but I think the problem with LBA is that they used synonyms. I mean, classic and original are way too close, so are remastered and reboot.
I mean, the original title is long enough, swap words and everyone will think it's witty... Big Little Adventure Little Big Beginning Little Bigger Adventure Iunno, I feel like it's just adding 2 and 2 together... Or if it's just a port that runs natively on Windows, don't make a new name for it, I mean it's the same game...

The original name should have stayed intact for both the "modernized" version currently on GoG and Steam, as well as this new remaster they've announced. The only thing you need to put is a suffix to let people know what version it is.

Those are essentially Windows 10 ports, but it was the same game... Just calling them LBA - Windows version would've been enough...

So firstly, I'd combine the classic and classic original versions into one game with a bunch of features we can turn off or ignore (stuff like new game+). Besides that from what I can see there isn't much difference between "Classic" and "Classic original".
So we have those editions called simply "Little Big Adventure: Relentless" and "Little Big Adventure 2: Twinsen's Oddysey" (In both cases I've just put a bit of the American names after the colon.) After that, all other editions can be called "has no compelling reason to exist".

Wait till Gabe Newell finds out that before he can release Half-Life 3, he must first release:
Gordon Freeman's Half-life 1 Classic Gordon Freeman's Half-life 2 Classic Gordon Freeman's Half-life 1 Remake Gordon Freeman's Half-life 2 Remake Gordon Freeman's Half-life 1 Reboot Gordon Freeman's Half-life 2 Reboot * whelp * I guess we all know why HL-3 is not confirmed yet.

....Hahaha! But, jokes aside: There's a reason why LBA1 was marketed as Relentless in certain countries, just as LBA2 was named Twinsen's Odyssey.
In Brazil for instance, afaik, LBA1/Relenteless was never released here, so when the time for LBA2 came around they simply decided to call it Twinsen's Odyssey, and there are NO references in the game box, manual, or anywhere whatsoever that this game was a sequel. It was simply Twinsen's Odyssey, you installed the game and had fun. Period. And yet, nobody felt like that was a bad move that "confused LBA1's fans" nor did people not buy the game because "I don't know who Twinsen is". It's a bloody game, it looks cute and you buy it for your kids so they stop bothering around the house. And that was in the 90's, and yet, those who knew the first game were NOT confused about it being a sequel, I dont think I've ever come across anyone in this community who was confused about which is LBA1 and which is LBA2, they just probably looked at the different title name, thought nothing at all about it and carried on with their lifes like anybody else would. ![]() ![]()

Why is it called "Little Big Adventure" anyway? What does it mean? I like the name but don't get what it means exactly...other than it being an adventure that is, uh, little, but also kind of big.

I think it's a typically french humour kind of name, as we see in a scene that they're really little (the size of a chess piece of our real world), so, these little people are living big adventures.

I've always thought it was some sort joking reference to the battle of Little Bighorn, or the movie Little Big Man.
Frankly, the Half-Life titles aren't very clear either chronologically speaking, but they certainly are better than the The LBA mess we have now
