Didi you just ruin the plot for everyone or is that not meant to be the big event of the movie?

yeah, those are only the first 10 minutes of the movie, the plot is something else.
There is even a scene in The Hangover that makes a parody of Rain Man

yesterday I watched Machete (211) - directed by Robert Rodriguez, starring way too many hollywood stars. (De Niro, Trejo, Van Damme, J.Alba, Michelle Rodriguez...)
It's just an action movie with some gore and splatter, the plot isn't really that great, but still better than the avarage plot action movies usually have. The whole movie itself seems like an attack to racism towards the latinos by the americans nowedays, but if that was the original purpose (i hope not), it has been done terribly.
A fine action movie with some fancy dialogues and a cool storyline, but nothing else.
7/10

Inception
A beautiful concept, but I feel like they could have developed it better. The movie has a great plot, but it was such a let down somewhere during the last 45 mins. The movie turns from being a great movie to a badly done war movie. The whole concept about dreams was fine (even if it seemed like a the matrix rip off in some parts), but in the end it all falls down like a castle of sand. Disappointing
7.5/10

Oz The Great and Powerfull - I wouldn't have seen this if it wasn't for the wonderful trailer. The film certainly has some imagination, and is well shot.....there just isn't enough to it. Its running time thus feels stretched.
Its not bad...just feels like it could have been a lot more.

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

the Great Gatsby (2013) is being unfairly criticized. I watched it last saturday, but I was ready to be disappointed, because of the bad critics? Guess what? I haven't seen a (modern) movie like this so far. Great story, wonderful setting, metaphors and meaningful allegories, marvelous acting. Go see it if you can, don't listen to the critics.
Only complaint: the music. People dancing to Jay-Z's music in the 20's doesn't make any sense.

Its impressive that Ditzy_Doo can enjoy both Equestria Girls and The Purge.

While I find that taste is mostly polar opposite to mine, I do approve of the diversity!

Pacific Rim - God, what a mess of cliché's and troupes put into a blender with mindless special effects.......its brilliant!

A Good Day To Die Hard - Awful. They took the fun out of it.

Epic - Ok. Felt like it needed more.
Some of it is very pretty, and theres a few nice ideas. But mostly its very standard, and thats a shame. The slow-motion is fun though, especially the dog.

Its certainly not as good as Rise of the Guardians, which was by the same writer.

R.I.P.D - Pretty fun. Tonely very much like Men In Black, plotwise half way between Reeper and Dead Like Me. Stylisticaly comic book like.
Nothings original, as such, but it doesn't need to be. Its enjoyable, and works as a live action cartoon film.

I liked much of the Hobbit, but really, it didn't need to be that long. Battles were added/extended just for the sake of eye-candy.

Monsters University - Much better then I expected. Solid story, that while a template set up avoids most of the main cliches. Funny...and yes, very very pretty in places.

Watched Gravity yesterday. Pretty decent film, though I was promised more of a thrill.
7/10

PS: Sandra Bullock doesn't age or what? She's hoooooooooooooottt.

She had work done

Gravity - Very very pretty. Especially in 3D. Every shot is amazing, very very good wirework and CG. It all looks real.
Plotwise its pretty standard survival stuff. My main criticisms were the needless cliches;
Spoiler:
He was one day from retirement? Really?

Also, despite the visual realism, there was bits that stretched belief
Spoiler:

The space stations all mind-blowingly close to eachother?
The debree destroying the stations in order? It should have hit them all in its first orbit.
How insanely flamble was that station?
Also, more a nit-pick, but while the chain reaction was realistic, the crazy short timescale was not.

That said, I did enjoy it. Would love to see a making-of documentary.

Toy Story of Terror (short tv special) - Still fun and smart. Amazing how Pixar keep the quality up.
