Job Openings at F4-Toys

Now, simply called, F4.

http://www.f4-group.com/ENGLISH/main.htm

This is what bothers me:

For one of the Job Requirements as a 3d artist/animator:

"Passion for Japanese animation, manga and Asia , the knowledge of an Asian language would be a plus"

Makes me wonder if this is the same company....but then it says Frederick's name on the website.

Also, I'm kinda pissed that the 3D Technical Director gets paid DOUBLE what 3D artists get paid. Granted, Directors and shit get paid more for bossing people around, 40,000 Euros versus 20,000 is rediculous.

Its a small company, Technical Director may involve far more then telling other people what to do. It may involveing filling in *all* the gaps that other staff members dont fill, or cant do.
(or dont do on time)

As for the Asia/Japanese thing...very interesting...wonder what they are working on.

Incidently, I love their logo
Slightly like nintendos old "N64" one, but more funky

No-one ever wants to hire someone fluent in gibberish . Woe is me. I could have done wonders for Star Fox 64 and Animal Crossing in the voice department.

The question is, if it's another game which preys upon the popularity of Japanese animation, would you even want to play it?

Sooo W00T!!!

So they aren't dead!! This is SMASHING news.

I *really* hope they won't make those ugly manga/cellshaded/whatever games. I trust Fred not to let that happen.

The game designer requirements says "Strong knowledge in either Sports games, MMOs, Racing or Simulations", so, that moves kinda away from the whole Mecha thingy going on in the artist jobs. The MMO part, makes me think of Korea, which totally imitates japanese animation. So could they be planning a mecha-anima-MMO?

I wonder little why all the jobs ask for knowledge in an unspecified Asian langauge. What are they gonna say when you say you know Mongolian?

Hmmm. The programmers want knowledge in Physics! Yay!

Oh, and all the jobs ask for "A passion for creating ambitious games", which kinda points at MMOs again. So I'm gonna guess:

Sci-fi-japanimation-Mecha-MMO.

Hmm in Israel you could easily live with that kind of money... (Well, if you don't have a family to suport).

The minimum wage here is less than 900$/month, and if you only have to support yourself (and live with roommates) you can get by.

Yeah, after only a year and 3 months of 1,800 shekels a month, I now have 20,000 shekels in my bank account (although I live in a kibbutz, so that probably doesn't count...).

People manage on about £15,000 a year, but thats what I personally call poverty. You can't enjoy "luxeries" like cars, petrol, going out, etc with that kind of money.

Yes, but that's pounds you're talking.

We're talking 18K of Euros.

I suppose the economy in France is different, however, I thought living in Paris was increadibly expensive.

So what if it's pounds? It's all relative. £15000 is most likely the same as 15000 Euros to the people who live there, isn't it? People earn "more" in comparison here, but everything is in turn more expensive.
