Lightroom?

I love Lightroom. It's better than Aperture (or at least of what I've found)

I've been walking around Newcastle (yesterday) for 6 hours and have a heap of photos that I need to go through and edit.
I'll put them up either tonight or tomorrow.

Like the Eiffel Tower pick nice composition - the leaf one is also very good but maybe a little dark - some digital vibrance would probably help.

Yeah - technically it's illegal to take pics of it at night as the copyright is owned by the lighting company - load of crap if you ask me!

Pfft... That's BS. They shouldn't be allowed to copyright a city landmark (at any time of day).

Your night shots are very nice. I always have trouble with mine, especially in post-processing, since changing the curves or levels tends to make them extremely grainy.

The leaf one was actually quite a bit lighter originally, but I was trying to get the details out a bit more. I was thinking of cropping off the bottom part, but then it looks very odd. I'll play around with it some more, though, and see what I can do. Thanks for the feedback .

EDIT: Another edit of the leaf, a fair bit lighter, but I'm still not happy with how the bottom looks.

What about something like this? Or were you looking for a little more subtle toning? What do people use for post processing btw?

Wow, that's very nice. I didn't think of changing the colour scheme, but it seems to have worked out quite well. Is it just B&W or did you colourize it?

I usually use Paintshop Pro or Paint.NET for post processing. PSP has a ton of features, but Paint.NET is a fair bit lighter and has options for the most important stuff (layers, curves/levels etc.). What about you?

It's colourised using a cross process which colours the highlights in copper and the lowlights in blue.

I generally use Adobe Lightroom which is absolutely brilliant. It is a non destructive photo editor so it doesn't matter what you do to your project as its all done separate from the main image which means no worrying about killing your image!

Nice! You guys are really good at photographing!

I'm not as good as you, but here are a couple of pictures that I've taken:

Northwestern Co. Mayo, Ireland. The characteristical Irish clouds cast their shadow on a landscape of turf fields and sheep grazings.

The Tiber seen from the bridge Ponte Fabricio, Isola Tiberina, Roma, Italy.

Kullaberg, Scania, Sweden. This is the tip of the Kullen peninsula, and the northern border of the water that seperates the Danish island of Zealand from Scania, the Öresund strait.

Lightning over Öresund, seen from the Scanian side. Denmark is visible in the horizon. This is not really a good pic, but I thought it was funny that I caught the thunderbolt.

Working man in Castro Pretorio, Roma, Italy. This picture is quite useless.

Mölle, Scania, Sweden. A view over the pittoresque village on the Kullen peninsula. Once it was one of the hottest tourist destinations in Europe.

Another view from Kullaberg over the sea.

Avinguda de Gabriel Roca, Palma de Mallorca, Spain. This is the coastal road and the harbor in central Palma on a late summer evening.

Outside the cathedral in Palma.

Barnatra, Co. Mayo, Ireland. Sheep looking out over a bay of the Atlantic Ocean in the west of Ireland.
