I loved Lightwings reply, found it while digging deep:

"Holicrap. I was just walking down the hallway at my school when these two hot babes jumped me, and gave me all kinds of sex.

Then they stole my money and my car.

But the sex was kinky!

Thanks you so much, Neko! With your NekoNekoBonusP0ints, I can get lucky just about any time!".

Gave you all kinds of sex? that sounds dangerous

That's the last I can think of. I think it might be fun to resurrect these type of threads, if only for nostalgia and to see who is still here from the old days and who has succeeded the oldies.

Edit: FWIW, out of the noobs/newbies of the month, none lasted much more than a year with the exceptions of LBAWinOwns, Kurck (who didn't really win but since 2004 was a clusterfuck with the debate between Morsh and Aule/Gustav, he gets it by default), Streggy (who also was victimized by lack of an "official" winner/thread) and Battler (nee Obras). Bushmeister was active for ages but not sure where he has been lately (though he clearly logs on from time to time), pretty, pretty Boo stuck around for a cup of coffee, Golemboy was somewhat active but dropped off precipitously between '04 - '05 (and hasn't been back since 2008), Manic went AFK after '05 only for a very brief return in '08, sdxy23 (who came in second) disappeared very shortly, and lastly, T@!!&$ left after 2005.
Nice collection!

I can't believe that I've been signed up to this place for 5 years! The times just flew by.

In the short time (Compared to most of you here) I've been on this board, I can distinctly remember the No weapon run in LBA2 where you had to go through the entire game without using any weapon so you had to JSB to get past areas where you would need a key for example. I remember getting the furthest anyone had gotten only to find out you couldn't get over the palace gate with the JSB.

Then there was the speculation that you can enter the statue without having it rise from the lava by JSBing to where the entrance would be if it had risen but noone could do it, not even the person that claimed they had done it.

This is definitely a classic:

Still funny nowadays (check the "top list").

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

After a couple of years, I find myself here once more, revisiting the fondest memories of my youth. I regret that I wasn't around to participate much more often. Now that most people who played LBA back then have moved on with their lives, this forum is a great archive of how life used to be. I barely remember the first time I played LBA 2. I didn't have a PC, so I played it with my cousin on his. Even that was entirely coincidental -- I picked it up only because the cover looked cool in the bargain bin. Those were far simpler days for me, with a stable life where possible failure wasn't looming at every corner. It's a bit depressing that games like LBA 2 aren't popular anymore, leading me to revisit my favourite games from bygone years. I hate modern games, apart from a few exceptions. Having recently finished LBA 2, I'm planning to play LBA. Or perhaps I'll give the new Sam & Max episodes a whirl first.

As for me, my good days are long gone. As much as I would like to create or join a fan project, I simply haven't had much free time in years. I thought that I'd leave my two cents here, to possibly the last remaining community centered around two, regrettably not three, of the best games that I've ever played.

As a guy on this forum said, we're the last generation that knows LBA, when we leave this life, probably the game will be lost forever...
Even when we lose the forum owner all remaining will be lost, since this is the LAST community alive about LBA...

Maybe ElMuerte should make an foundation? LBA Foundation!

LBA is/was fairly popular, but most people have moved on. I would say that everyone originally came here for LBA, but they stayed after making friends. There are some other golden oldies too, like Deus Ex, but they're way more popular. It also helps that Deus Ex 3 is going to be released. Of course, there are still a number of things that I'd like to try with LBA 2, but it's age and lack of official modding tools makes things much harder than other games.

Some of those results lead to forum threads which also include other not-so-popular games that ought to be popular. Interesting indeed.

Twinsen didn't save his planet, it's a lie. He died and Twinsun got destroyed. Zoe is dead. Arthur will never be born.

where is morshem.
where is chaosfish.
where is bushmeister.
where is obrasilo.
and so many others.
where is everyone?
where is everyone who used to make this forum fun.

this place is getting so sad... the ratio of nonsense x content has become absurdly uneven.

MBN was so great... some 7 years ago.

Is that the Open Pandora thing which is completely Open Source and looks like a DS but with a whole keyboard and analog sticks on it?

I'm thinking about getting that anyway and that would be another reason.

We need to make interesting things, else people will leave and not get interested on forum too...
What we could do to pump this up again before it die?

reminds me of Spoon River, The Hill by Edgar Lee Masters.

Where are Elmer, Herman, Bert, Tom and Charley,
The weak of will, the strong of arm, the clown, the boozer, the fighter?
All, all are sleeping on the hill.
One passed in a fewer,
One was burned in a mine,
One died in a jail,
One fell from a bridge toiling for children and wife -
All, all are sleeping, sleeping, sleeping on the hill.

I hope they had better fate!
