yeah, thay did a cover called that, changed it a little, to say 'i won'. not they original though. i used to know, if i remember ill post it

EDIT: come to think of it, truck loads of people did it. some guy called george thorogood did it, the stray cats, tom petty, the clash, the pistols, the pogues, bobby fuller four. i even think grateful dead did a cover. i have a feeling george thorogood was the original, but im not at all sure. anyone wanna clarify that?

hmm....evidently i was completely off on this one! The Clash did cover it, and their version was called 'I Fought The Law', the lyrics were still 'I fought the law and the law won' though, so i'm not sure there the 'I Fought The Law (and I Won)' came from, perhaps that was somebody else's cover? Anyway, sorry for my mistake, The Clash's cover was actually the only time i'd heard that song!

Anyway, as for the original, it seems to me to be by the 'Bobby Fuller Four', but i *really* don't know how accurate that is. Sorry!

Right now: Hans Zimmer - Black Hawk Down Soundtrack

no, the pistols did a cover of it called i fought the law (and I won),in stead of (and the law one) it was slightly different to the original. dead kennedys also covered this versoin, if my mind serves correctly. Dk were ace

as to the original, im not sure who it was, but bobby fuller four definately did a version, so thats probably the original. i posted a list of who have covered it. bobby fuller four did a version, so im guessin thats the original then, if this rings a bell?

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.
