Cool. Could you maybe add all your custom avatars in this thread to the top post, to make things easier for lazy people like me?

- ChaosFish: I tried to do it, but it's not possible to choose a transparent color for the animation in the version of Animation Shop I use. I'm going to install Paint Shop Pro 7 (which also has Animation Shop 3) and I'll do with that.

You can also get Animation Shop as a stand-alone.

Hmmm... but how comes Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop are shipped on the Corel website? Aren't they developed by Jasc Software Inc.?

- ChaosFish: OK, I understand now. But why do the big companies always buy the smaller ones?

- ChaosFish: Hmmm... I tried to do, what it's in your video, but still, I don't get the animation transparent.

I mean, I have a ROFL smiley, which is the same as the one, but rolling to the right, and then back to the left. I tried with Replace Color, but after I save, the background is still opaque. How can I make it transparent?
BTW, for your convenience, here's the smiley in question:

(here it might seem OK, as the smiley backround is the same as the post background here)
And BTW, this is the temporary version of it, the final one will roll faster.

Press:
Animation menu -> Replace Color...
Under Replace color in:
use "All frames"
Under Replace:
use "Old Color".
Now without closing the dialog window, left click on the color you want to make transparent - inside one of the frames.
Under With:
use "Transparent opacity"

Does it work now?

Hmm.. before you save, try going to File -> Optimization Wizard.
Check the settings there and make yourself the settings that suits you.
If you need any help with that just ask!

- ChaosFish: It works now, it's transparent, but there's another problem. When I play it in Animation Shop, it moves normally, while when I play it in IE, it moves very slowly. Why is that? How to solve it?

Maybe the other smilies are 10frames/sec. Otherwise they would be slower in IE.

Hmmm... the XD smiley, for example, is 1 frame/sec and it works OK in IE.

Because IE is limited to 10 frames per second. That means up to 10.

To see a great example of the differences, look at ChaosFish's smilies avatars in IE, and then in Firefox.

- morshem: hmmm... my ROFL smiley has 32 frames, each going at 1/100 s = total 0.32 s = more than 10 fps. Ahhh... so I guess I have to change its speed now.

Well... since yesterday, I use Firefox, but my ROFL smiley is still slow. Why is that? Fishos, how can I make it faster?
