I HATE THEM!

Oh I just hate it... this cute li'l browser program they have which puts loads of windows and buttons in the way of everything and is full of little buttons that say:

'If you have no more than two brain cells to connect, but would still like to read your email, click here'

'If you have no more than two brain cells to connect, but would still like to access the world wide web, click here'

'If you have more than two brain cells to connect, please click here to unsubscribe from AOL'

Plus it won't load any graphics in more than 16 bit color in really poor quality and everything has to stay in the special AOL parent window and I HATE IT

Why would anyone pay £14.99 a month for this? Good job I'm only on a 200hr free trial...

aol huh? i have a tendency to resent such big companies (also microsoft). hopefully i haven't tried anything yet even though i've found about 20 cd's with free trials in magazines because my icq is just enough for me

The Dutch variant of AOL is called CompuServe. I get an installation cd from them about 4 times per year. Which immediatly goes back in the trashcan. They suck btw. Only for very dumb people it might be nice, but I don't think extreme dumb people should use the internet anyway.

We used to have CompuServe as well, and CSI (or something like that ), but then AOL swallowed them both.

Hehe wait till soon though... when we get digital TV I could be getting broadband access through the NTL fibre-optic cables. Yay!

actually most of the magazines in Brazil come with a Install CD of AOL... i even like, broke it is a good fun.

I have somewhere near 100 of those CD's get 1 everymooth, usualy more..

AOL CD's are the ideal beer coaster.

Kieron... don't you just hate the AOL advert on TV? "You can sign up with AOL *COMPLETELY FREE*", lol but before we allow you to sign up we need your credit card number.

It also gets to me why the try and market it as free when NTL now exists (get it by the way, it rules - probably why I post here so offten now.) I have to warn you though, for all it's nice touches and modern features, Digital isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's highly unstable at the moment. It cuts out at least twice a week at the moment

At that compuserv stuff you get one month free per disk. I know someone who had collected all those things and installs after a month a new disk
He has about 50 so he'll haev 'free' internet for a looooong time
