Yes all very good games, I might also recommend the Broken Sword games, and for truly old school action, try Maniac Mansion, the precursor of Day Of The Tentacle.
But the best ones there are defintely Monkey Island (although MI1 and MI2 are superior to MI3 and MI4) and Grim Fandango.

My favorite aventure games:
The Curse Of Monkey Island (Greatest of them all) Toonstruck The Pandora Directive (6 disc epic ditective game, same atmosphere as X-Files and Twin Peaks) Broken Sword: The Shadows Of The Templars Day Of The Tentacle The Dig, Full Throttle and Blade Runner haven't been mentioned yet suprisingly. I'd stay away from the Discworld games thought. The new point-and-click games Runaway and Tony Tough seems pretty interesting, haven't played those yet so... |

Alchemist is indeed talking poop. The Discworld games are very good, and also COMI is not as good as either MI1 or MI2 or Grim Fandango. Only those three games can have a hope of being described as LucasArts true crowning glory.

Dont forget Day of the Tentical!
![]() Manic mansion I wont put on the list though...it was funny, but too many "non-logical" puzzles. (and how where you supposed to know who to pick at the start?)

Firstly, you have just undone your initial arguement on the Discworld games. You can not label them all collectively as "boring" when you admit to having only played the first two, the third, Discworld Noir, being a very nice game and liked by many. Secondly, I am not a fan of MI1+MI2 just to be hardcore, I just prefer them because of the Ron Gilbert touch, in comparison to the lead development stylees of Ackley and Ahern and the MI4 team. Also, the first two games do have a nice atmosphere, contrary to what you say. And while there are people who cite MI1 as the best to "be hardcore" my personal favourite is MI2 (as I have stated before), which isn't as widely liked, some people just get pissed off about it because the ending is hard to understand, but at least the ending of MI2 had a little thinking to it, and has inspired many to write articles in an attempt to explain it. As for Grim Fandango, can you imagine playing it in 2D and it still being as enjoyable or immersive? Just because its different, doesn't mean its worse. You can adapt to the controls quite easily.
Of course all opinions are equal ... maybe some are just more equal than others.

MI2 was harder, longer and funny then 3, therefor it was better.
However, 3 did have more logical puzzles If I remember correctly. I cant understand how anyone can not like the discworld storys, their based on some of the funniest books ever written. (Game 3 was 100% oringinal however). I just loved all the movie rip-offs and referances in #2.
