Dinofly Chex Quest

So I had a bit of a nostalgic overload today...

Ok so I used to play this game all the time. It was a promo game that came in Chex cereal boxes back in 1996. There's 3 games to play, Chex Quest 1-3. I recommend downloading this game if you like 1st person shooters And just because it's awesome.

Chex Quest is a weird, non-violent first-person shooter running on the Doom engine that, as you may have guessed, featured a lot of Chex cereal themes.

The game’s hero is the Chex Warrior, a human-like creature in an anthropomorphic piece of Chex cereal armor. I mean, c’mon, how can it get any more awesome than that?!

If you’re wondering how a non-violent FPS works, the Chex Warrior shoots the enemies, the slimy Flemoid creatures, with a “Zorcher,” which teleports things instead of blowing their guts all over the place.

The music isn't half bad either which is a huge bonus .

Here's a short video of the first level and shows what the game is like:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qzdS-wgPYWE

Fortunately, this game DOES run on newer operating systems so I recommend grabbing the free download (which containes all 3 games). Downloading is the only way to get the game now.
Here's the link:
http://m.neatorama.com/2012/04/28/do...-1-3-for-free/

Although the download link reads "Chex Quest 3", don't fret, as it still contains all 3 games.

Now get to downloadin', and kick some Flemoid butt!

DOOM clone detected? Never heard of it, but it looks like DOOM with some better graphics. May be as well the best cereal box game ever. All I ever got was some lame games... hehe

Hey! You liked BASS too? That game is awesome. I like the atmosphere and the dystopian future theme. I'm always interested in games that analyze what we could do to ourselves.

Wait wait - before talking about the game, I must know: was this cereal any good?

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

Yeah of course.
Did you know that you waited idly for 1 minute Duke would say some random sentence, like "Oh, I need a bed"?

I tried Chex quest 3
I set max difficulty and I finished all my ammos, cos i didn't notice that enemenies keep respowning. It was cool to fight for my life using a spoon, and being killed by a weird alien flying in a loittle spacecraft. Even the dieing/respowning screen and some sounds are ripped off from doom haha
Some bits are even translated to italian... seriously, what the heck?

EDIT - oh, zdoom.pk3 file is there... it means it uses the original doom engine :P That explains the sounds and the translations

I played some more episodes, and the game is really hard and fast paced. Didn't really expect that... nice!

didn't feel like starting a new thread. Has any of you ever played to Captain Claw? I loved this game when I was a child, but it was hard as hell!
I wish I can find a way to emulate it on my psp or something, platforms like this are awesome for handheld consoles

They use the same sounds in Gruntz ! And there's also an exclamation mark above their heads when they are talking !

Never played Claw, but Gruntz is one of my favorite games.
