i don't know what you're talking about.
what about "Mario Golf"? or "Mario Teaches Typing 2"?
Are you suggesting that these games are a stupid waste of everybody's time?

look, everyone knows mario is a complete rip off of sonic the hedgehog. the games have little to no merit at all and pail in comparison to the likes of sonic adventure 2, which as well as trumping any of the mario games in terms of gameplay, had an excellent story to follow.

Heads up: Shaun the Sheep is on the video channel.
Well worth watching, like most Aardman stuff.

So... I bought Kid Icarus: Uprising. At first I wasn't very interested because Brawl made me intensely dislike Pit, but after seeing a few gameplay videos and learning about the wonderfully varied weapon system I was sold (plus I have 3 friends who bought it too to play the online multiplayer)
As everyone and their mother have already said, the control scheme takes a while to get used to, but once you tweak the settings to fit your tastes and get the hang of it it's not that bad, in fact I think it suits the gameplay well.
Lots of content in this game, graphics are great too. And the difficulty curve is steeper than I expected, which is a nice surprise. You can always set the difficulty lower or higher before playing a level but you're always tempted to set it a little higher to get better rewards (powers, weapons and the game's currency: hearts)
Overall it feels like a really polished experience so far! I'd go as far as to say it's a must have game for 3DS owners, and that's coming from someone who thought that Pit was annoying and had zero hype for this game for as long as a week ago.

Is the story/humour any good? Not looking for a epic or anything, just I like some story and I heard mixed things.

They had a little short animated thing on Nintendo Video atm that had a few laughs in it.

The story looks like your typical Good vs Evil so far, what makes it more interesting is the fact that it never takes itself seriously at all. There's a lot of self-referential humor, fourth wall breaking (Palutena mentions one of Pit's moves appearing in a game called "Super Bash Sisters") and characters lampshading the most obvious cliches, so it is pretty entertaining so far.

Also I'd like to point out how this game appears to have the least laggy and most immediate online multiplayer among first party nintendo titles on the 3DS (I'm looking at you, Mario Kart) which is both pleasant and a surprise, since Sakurai's previous game's (Smash Bros Brawl) online multiplayer was a lag-riddled joke.

3DS firmware update today, adds the functionality to create folders in the menu screens and makes the 3DS capable of patching existing games.

Nintendo hotspots? Oh boy!

Aaaand, of course there only are a couple of those in my region in Italy, and only a single one that I could theoretically reach in Udine (since I go to university there) but even then it's kinda far away and I don't think it's even worth the hassle of going there just for that purpose. Hope they add more in the future, not holding my breath yet though.

This would be interesting if we could have access to not only the European games but also the Japanese and American ones. Unfortunately the 3DS is zoned, so I guess that won't happen

I don't see why that would matter. The Wii got a few virtual console games released worldwide that didnt make it worldwide before (Mario RPG I think for one).

Nintendo still has to license the game for other countries, get it rated etc. But thats far far cheaper then physically making a bunch of copies and shipping them.

Basically previous Nintendo would have to think "Would we sale enough of this game to pay for the translation, production and distribution"
Now they just have to think "Would we sale enough of this game to pay for the translation"

I think we might not get everything but we would probably get a lot more.

Nintendo E3 stuff:

- Pikmin 3 looks very nice.

- WiiU pad can work as a tv remote/guide.

- Hulu/YouTube/Netflick/Aamazon video support etc

- You can palse games and use other console features while paused (like the 3ds). Unlike the 3ds, this includes videochatting with friends or sending screenshots.

- "in game" social features, like leaving comments for friends at the end of levels.
======

All nice stuff, but P3 aside, no games that interest me yet.

Most boring E3 ever. Period.
It's not like I was expecting any game in particular, I know Smash Bros is several years away and Zelda just came out last year, but... meh. There was nothing at all when it comes to first party games. Lots of third party is fine and dandy, too bad 90% of those titles are ports of games that already came out last year.
And as usual they focused too much on casual crap.
I felt no need to buy a WiiU before and this E3 didn't change a thing.
It will probably be 3DS all over again, terribad launch, price drop, actually interesting game come out, things get gradually better.
The real question is, can Nintendo afford another 3DS?
