Citadelle --> For some reason my mom decided I should watch The Bird Cage when I was about 12...
As hard as I tried I couldn't understand why would any man want to dress up as a woman

The movie itself is enjoyable though

saw the birdcage a while ago, it was good. can't really remember it though.

i just watched Dog Soldiers, and it lacked to say the least. it was predictable and cliche, and just not very interesting. the acting was pretty bad, too. kinda movie that's a horror movie that's not good enough to be scary, but not bad enough to be funny, somewhere in between, so crap, in other words. oh, and it also tries some of its own dark humour, which isn't bad actually. made me chuckle. but the movie was baaaaaaaad.

i want to see all the films previously mentioned, as well as;
the butterfly effect
shaun of the dead.

what else did i see? oh, i saw a feature length documentary, called beyond the mat. that was ace, actually. it was an insight, an alternate look at proffesional wrestling, looking at smaller promotions, schools etc. and the careers of some old wrestlers. it was very interesting, to see how some of it works, and kinda touchin, with the stuff about family and stuff.a selectist choice, you really have to appreciate wrestling to watch it, otherwise it's lost, but watch it if you like/liked pro wrestling.

oh, and i watched When in Rome, the second latest olsen twins film. it was fucking awful. I don't really wanna talk about that one, it's been kinda damaging to me....

Well, i had to watch it. its a thing with me and some friends. i need to watch The challenge and then i've seen all of them...

oh shit. that's really sad, isn't it...

anyway, think that's it

What's wrong with the end?
What did you expect? A kung-fu battle of Neo vs Deus Ex Machina?

the ending fits perfectly with the rest of the film, maybe he was just shocked at the way it ended. I thought the ending was a good way to end a trilogy, by restarting

Dont know, i think the sequal to ETM has been scraped...havnt heard a word about it in ages.

Unlike The Matrix Online, which is looking pretty good actualy, and is set to continue the story in some way.

A matrix (movie) sequel would be a disaster.
We don't want the Matrix to become a cheap rubbish series like Friday the 13th with it's 243 sequels.

Can you believe I saw only one movie this weekend?

I saw Houhokekyo Tonari no Yamada-kun (My Neighbors: the Yamada's), which is a very unusual movie from the famous Studio Ghibli (My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away) from 1999. It's drawing style is very simplistic as if it were drawn by a little kid on a blank piece of paper. The animation is totally awesome, as expected of Ghibli.

So the story is about the family Yamada: mom, dad, son, daughter and grandma, who live together in a house. The movie is basically a collection of everyday and non-everyday happenings within the family, showing their relationships and characteristics of every family member. Pretty nice, the boy has a very funny grown-up attitude for example. Has a scary 'happy-happy-family' feeling over it, but much less than the average Disney-movie where they try to stuff family values down your throat.

I'd say this is a great movie if you're up for a nice feel-good movie, or are just curious to alternative work from studio Ghibli (this movie is totally unlike most Ghibli movies, but gets pretty close to Omohide Poro Poro if anyone happened to have seen that). If you want to see something cool or exciting: you'll probably get bored. It starts out a little slow too, but won't get a climax halfway through or anything, it's a pretty flat easygoing movie.

Yeah guys, ok , the ending was ok, its just that i havent seen the other movies lately and i forgot the story, and then it seems short, i didnt have any connections to "why end now", it seemed short, but now im comparing to the ones before and it seems fine. Beautiful actually.

I saw Forrest Gump for the first time a few hours ago. great. I simpatise completely with it

Just for the hell of it and because I can I'm gonna watch the Matrix Revolutions again.

LOL I remember when I saw it in the cinema and I first heard Trainman, i just burst out laughing cos there is some guy down the road who complains that our skateboards sound like trains so we nicknamed him trainman what a coincidence

Kill Bill vol 2 came out in NL today, I'll see it next week I hope.

I saw 21 Grams yesterday. I really loved it, it's a powerful depressive movie with some very emotional scenes, the acting rules. The story is told in a messed up timeline so you need to pay attention to get the most out of it. The characters and their three different background stories are connected through an ingenious line of life and dead, that's what the whole movie is basically all about. I was seeing hidden connections and metaphors everywhere throughout the movie, but maybe I was making up some of them. Go see it if you liked Memento or Requiem for a Dream or Fight Club. Strange I heard so little about this movie, I guess it's underestimated.

After a small 3 hours, I've just seen The Last Samurai of which I'm certain everybody has heard of and the majority of you has seen already. I guess you could best describe it as 'Seven Years in Tibet' + 'Braveheart'. I liked it, I must say I underestimated it at first. In the end I still don't really get the motives of some of the characters, but that didn't really kill the feelings I had during the movie. I strongly prefer the first half of the movie, still.

Oh yeah, if you liked TLS and you're interested in anime you might want to check out Rurouni Kenshin, which also takes place in the era where samurai become rare and the western civilization takes over.

Next up, perhaps: Kill Bill vol 2!; Ocean Waves (aka I Can Hear the Sea) by studio Ghibli; Dogville

Hmm, I don't know if Macross Zero counts as its a kinda OAV, but its pretty short (5 eps, 30 mins each).

So far I think its great. The plot is a tad confusing, but that will be all sorted out in the last 2 episodes. (which still haven't been made.)

If you liked Macross Plus, Gundam or just mechas in general, give episode 1 a look. (subbed DVD rip available on suprnova...)
