Also for 3ds is a expanded port of Superstar Saga. Fantastic game for those that have not played it.

Man I'm so out of the loop with gaming.

My console career went like PS1-PS2-Wii and my PC career has been a couple of PCs running win 98, one with XP and my current 2008 Macbook on which i can barely run that new "A Little Adventure" lba game lol...

Thinking of picking up a ps3 for CHEAP; Can anyone make a short list of must plays so I know what nuggets hide amongst the rubbish?

You should definately play Uncharted 2 and 3, arguably the two best games on the system. Both of them not only have super stellar gameplay, but also great stories that make you more engaged along the journey. It is as fun with friends to play, as it is fun to play alone.

If you like doing creative stuff with level making, and or like doing platforming, maybe Little Big Planet is up your alley. I got pretty hooked for this game for the longest time, and it kinda reminds me of Minecraft in that you have a lot of freedom to do what you like. Never really played LBP 2, but I've heard good things about it too.

A great contender for the best game on the ps3 would be GTA V, even though that might be a no brainer for a lot of people. It goes without saying that GTA never really disappoints in delivering one of the best gaming experiences out there. And if you somehow haven't played it yet, you should definately check that out.

Little Big Planet 2 is a fun platformer indeed, I myself recommend Journey as a must play. A very beautiful game where you fly around in forgotten cities in a desert.
I also liked Catherine, made by Atlus, so you have to enjoy japanese-type narrative. Nice game about cheating on someone

Okami is also very pretty (haven't played it yet though).

Okami is great. Played the Wii version and really enjoyed it.
Only crit is it starts of Zelda-ish but goes a ot more combat based in the second half.

I liked Journey, but the only really interesting bits are that bit where you fly and then the bits at the end they are in the snow and then the infinite flight zone.

A Way Out did look good indeed. Its not often you get co-op games that really use the second player well (ie, not just for combat).

Spiderman looks lovely. Way Out also looks great, main challenge would be to find a friend who'd play with me

And we need much, much more groundhog games. You know how every tv show ever always must one groundhog episode? Same should be for games. I mean, (almost) all games are groundhogs by their very nature, but I think we need to take that one step forward, making it clear the groundhog is in-game rather the usual meta-groundhog state we're all so used to in games.

Ah. What do you mean then by groundhogs game ? Are they a publisher ?

A groundhog day is a day that resets at 6:00AM and no one else but you realizes they're reliving yesterday over and over again. So you can do whatever you want, like jump off a cliff or rob a bank, and start the same day over as a blank slate. A groundhog day only stops reseting when you've done what you were "meant to do" .

Just watch Groung Day. It's a movie from 1993 that is awesome.
