A thought I had when returning to work this lunchtime

Prison

Row after row,
Cold empty boxes,
Harsh red brick or concrete grey.
Regiment lines,
Soldiers of no-one,
Sickly stench of rotting minds.
From the silent street hidden,
Crammed into spaces,
Sapping the soul,
Dulling the brain.

Hour after hour,
Scratching our labour,
Meaningless tasks for irrelevant ends.
By harsh cathode light,
Chained and shackled
Scrape another penny,
Hoard it and guard it.
Laugh as others bleed,
And Die.

Grinding and wrenching,
Stretched into eternity,
Pray for blessed relief,
Final breath.
Coal black cloud,
Hangs over us ever.
Choking smog,
Clogs the lungs.
Never escaping.
Never escaping,
My prison.
My office,
Prison.

I don't know what to say. This poem seems very deep of a prisoner's experience. How did you find out that poem?

I wrote it this lunch time as I stood outside my office building and thought about the irony of freedom. I go through years of education and then rather than do something with my mind I am sat in an office doing things I dont care about for people I dont care about. Then I thought how being in an office is somewhat like being a prisoner....

It almost sounds as if you don't like your job.

Have tweaked it a bit so the rhythm flows a bit better and is found at my deviant art gallery http://theangrymonkey.deviantart.com/ [/shameless plug]

Cheers for the comments by the way

You say it in so complicated sentence i dont understand without my wordfinder.

oh i see what you mean , Its the new universitys who must calm down with the soldiers(students) which are imprisoned. I think the only solution would to make the society more effective , Kill the Evildoers, dont imprison them, that save money. raise the high taxes to maximum, you should not think on your own. leech money from the rich and give to the society. Let nothing stand in way for the imperium of clones. Let noone think of their own, all must follow my path the right. ---- Thats the way of effectiveness, you cannot fight about things, you just must do it!.
