For the doctor who fans:

Next season trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5iwoRA2Cas

Personally I dont think it makes such a great season trailer - its pretty standard episode trailer and completely avoids the more epic/interesting ongoing stuff.

It also misses a opertunity for a anniversary trailer. After all, there has been a 50 year setup somewhat for the First Question. The question hidden in plain site. The question he has been running from his whole life....
(seriously, last season, I knew River Songs story from a mile away, but ¨the question¨ reveal at the end blew my mind)

Once Upon A Time season final - Pretty excellent. Every major plotpoint from before covered, flashback storyline neatly tied to the present, a heartfelt conclusion.
Oh, and a Dragon being shot at.

Last few minutes are a bit "oh, we been renewed! quick! cliffhanger!" but I dont care

Community s3 final - While not as funny as its peak, its still as fresh and original. Very nice Hiest movie parody, a show thats completely told as a 16bit videogame, and a character crossing over from a evil universe.

Legend of Korra s1epp10 - Jaw dropping fantastic. I swear more happens in one episode of this then 5 episodes of anything else. How they cram so much story in 20mins I have no idea. Also I have no idea where its going.

Simpsons is longest animated, but Stargate SG1 and Dr Who hold records for live action.
===

Tron Uprising epp1 - O_O Wow. That was intense. Like Tron meets Batman. Cant tell if its CG or animated (hybrid?) Certainly looks amazing and unique.
Insanely fast paced - my eyes were glued too the screen the whole time.
They gota slow the pace done though, you cant invest in characters without some breaths along the way.

Fits in well with the movies too (same voice actors)

Anyone watching Continuum? Its really quite good!
I am upto the end of season1 and am very pleased season2 is confirmed. If anyone wants a smart modern sci-fi its very recommended. Serious and dramatic without trying to be "gritty/dark" too.

Doctor Who "Asylum of the Darleks" - Whats this? A actually really good episode with Daleks? Wow! First time theres been even a "ok" episode with those things in a very long time. Good story, hits all the main emotional points. Still, not as good a season opener as "An impossible astronaut" was last time.

Doctor Who "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" - The titles tells you all you need to know. Only this series could have a episode called that. Fun too.

I tried some new tv shows!

Arrow - shit. I thinks its the Dark Knight or something, trying too be gritty and serious but it just doesnt get it. You have a hero that spends most of his time killing random security gaurds or escorts while letting the evil rich guy of the week live.

Revolution - urg. Even worse, every American post-apoc cliche is chucked together. The power goes out and suddenly the US is run by mobs and all US flags have to be burnt. Theres a good idea in this show somewhere, but every line is crazy cliche.

Last Resort - First episode fantastic. Nuke submarine gets suspecious orders to fire on country but they refuse, go rouge, and set up base on a small island....becoming the worlds smallest nuclear power. Great start, haven't seen the rest but I fear its canceled already.

Meanwhile,

Fringe - good god this has gone downhill

*bump*

Anyway watching "Cult" ?

I really dont know what to make of it. Its....a show about a show ? a show about a kidnapping related to the show? A show leaking into the realworld maybe?
Its all very ARG themed. Dunno if its good or bad yet, but its certainly different and haven't got any idea of where its going....or even what genre the show is after two episodes.

The actor that plays "T-bag" from prison break is the villain...or maybe not. He is the villain of the show-within-a-show anyway. Great actor.

annnnddd Cults canceled. It was a bit slow despite the interesting premise. Oh well.
---

Defiance - Pretty good! A proper, high-budget tv sci-fi with aliens, lots of future tech and not just people in the woods shouting at eachother.
The pilot 2 hours was really good stuff. Nothing truly original as such, but together it all felt quite fresh.
I especially liked the Dark-crystal-esq creature designs.

DeVinchis Demons - hahaha. I had to watch this after reading the stupid premise. Its a period fantasy drama about Leonardo da Vinci's early life.
Think Game of Thrones based around random clockwork inventions.
Its wasn't actually that bad. I did like the slow motion montage stuff of the bird in flight.

Although I couldn't believe they used actual fireworks during a sex scene that wasn't intended to be funny.

Bump.

Agents Of S.h.e.l.d - Pretty solid start. Obviously a lot of hype, being the first live action tv show set in the Marvel film universe. Doubly so being a Joss Wheadon show. Still, had solid character introductions, good effects, and witty banter. Nothing stepping outside the bounds of the expected, but certainly a good start.
It does seem pretty obvious that Spoiler:
Agent C is a clone, he only thinks he was on Holiday

Why was the title of my awesome thread changed? And who watches TV shows on a box anymore? Hmm never mind, anyway...

I just watched the first 2 episodes of The Tomorrow People and I just have to complain. The whole thing is so retarded it actually made me angry.

I blame the tv networks. They probably forced the writers to write this crap. And the saddest thing is that pretty much everything else on tv is even worse.

Didn't like Agents of Shield, it kinda reminded me of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_dEtaNx2Vc

Person of Interest is consistently brilliant, try that
Or Orphan Black.

But in general your correct.
The Tomorrow People, incidentally is a remake of something already remade twice before.

Theres remakes of, amongst other things Murder She Wrote and Charmed coming.
I am not joking with any of those.

Sg1 was mostly brilliant by the very likable cast. Great chemistry.
The plots ranged from brilliant to god-awfull, with far far too many forests and "primitive human cultures" living in them. But the main cast kept it watchable.

My short review () ;

Stargate SG1
Reviewed By Darkflame (Type - tv-series, CreatedBy - Brad Wright , Jonathan Glassner)

At the time of writing, Stargate SG1 is the longest-running science fiction show on American television. As such it makes it quite tricky to review.

Its certainly easy to say the starting concept is a superb springboard for a wide range of stories. An ancient device which can create wormholes to anywhere in the galaxy. Like the most awesome telephone in existence, it skips the bore of deep space travel and connects you straight to where you want to go.

Of course, this concept comes straight from the film this show is based on, and even then the idea has been seen many of times before in various forms. Portals to other worlds of various sorts has been done in sci-fi for a long time, but I think its fair to say the Stargate is the definitive example now. Its simple to understand, iconic, and gives a good sense of wonder.

As you'd expect with this set up, an episode typically starts with a jump though the gate. Entering another world for exploration or research and inevitably ending up in "adventure".Its here where it becomes a bit of a mixed bag. Sadly it has to be said the biggest problem with the show is the alien worlds they visit. With a galaxy of possibility's, 7/10 times they end up in a forest, encountering a semi-primitive culture of some time and inevitably being drawn into some local politics.
Its understandable the creators of the show have limited resources, and have to film stuff locally when they can, but when you compare it to something like Farscape they arnt even in the same league. Farscape convincing portrayed all manor of alien worlds and environments, despite being supported by less viewing figures. Its also worth noting that almost every culture encountered by the SG1 team is human. This does make sense in terms of the shows storyline, but none the less makers of the show feel less imaginative and far less visually interesting then Farscape or Babylon 5.

So if the main problem is the over use of human environments and cultures, the main plus point of the show is the very human main cast. The characters feel fully fleshed out and very easy to emphasis with. Sure, they don't have elaborate back-stories and they do fall into rough ;archetypes...but they are likable. The chemistry of the cast just works. Special praise also has to be given to Richard Dean Anderson, who turns what would have been a very boring and generic military-leader-type-guy into someone with a bit of humour and wit.
This becomes particularly apparent if you look at the other Stargate spin-off No other character comes close. Hell, in Stargate Universe the majority of the (much larger) cast seem generic military types with emotions ranging from depressed to irritated and barely seeming like humans at all.
Atlantis fairs better then that, but still no were close to the original sg1 cast. The other nice thing about Stargate SG1 is it really chronicles human development. We dont just visit alien worlds, we learn from them. The show champions science over ;superstition and emphasis's that we have to progress to survive.Sadly it also falls into the cliche of having to keep the technology separate from the world at large. "The population would panic". Blah blah blah. Its presumably because the writers want their universe to plausible fit into the real world. To me this is unnecessary though, and I would have loved too have seen...a few seasons in...the existence of the stargate revealed to the world.

Plotwise the show is mostly episodic, but getting progressively more arch-ish as it goes alone. Some of the end of season episodes are especially good, but at times during the arcs the more ;individual ;episodes feel a little out of place. The main ;story's ;concern the G'auld, a race of parasitic aliens that pretend to be Gods. This is nice, as it fits in with the film as well as setting up a reason for many of the myths we have on earth. This overall storyline works well enough, but dont expect anything too amazing.Later on, it ups the stakes by dealing with the self-explanatory replacators, and the threat in the final seasons being the Ori...who for all intensive purpose's are actual Gods. The cast also changes quite a few times as it goes, with RDA's role reducing in the last few seasons.

Fortunately, the replacement cast..... especially Claudia Black as "Vala"....is so fun that the show stays watchable.Overall, don't expect too much originality, but do expect an enjoyable, light-hearted Sci-FiSomething we need more of

Great review, couldn't have wrote better myself =)

The main problem is indeed that all of the planets they visit are too earth-ish, and the characters that are not part of the main cast should have more emotion. I mean, some of them have, but they are exceptions...

Done watching Orphan Black season 1. (yeah I know, that was fast) Wow! That was amazing. Not sure when was the last time I enjoyed a TV show so much.

Funny, during the whole show I thought "wow, an actual decent TV show that is American and isn't British" - and now I find out it's by "BBC America". Should've known.

About the ending, Spoiler:
Patented organism? Come on. I find that hard to buy. There's no way a human being would legally be someone's intellectual property, especially not in religious USA. Unless maybe Dr. Leekie is a strong white house lobbyist? Does that make sense? I don't know.

Anyway, I HATE that I have to wait several months now for season 2! But at least the show isn't cancelled. That would've been tragic.

Well, it is a little silly that point;
Spoiler:

I mean, how do you register a patent for something thats internationally illegal?

If human cloning wasn't illegal, I could see it though.
They wouldn't say they were patenting a person, just a dna-sequence or something (that happening to be unique to that person). Theres been enough stupid things patented already.

That said, very recently, the US supreme court ruled that naturally occurring DNA cant be patented. (which should be a no-brainier, as its a discovery, not an invention).

Anyway, yes, great show. Cant wait for season 2

Ok, starting watching Person of Interest again. A long time ago I tried watching the first two episodes and stopped there because I was annoyed Benry was doing basically the same character he did on Lost. I very much dislike typecast. But ok, getting past that, it's an ok show. Wouldn't call it brilliant, but it's ok.

Its pretty standard till then end of the first season.
At first all it has going for it is the fact its about murder prevention rather then "hay look at this horrible murder" which a lot of shows start with.

It starts getting more interesting when the "Machine" itself becomes a lot more relevant and theres a few more factions.
As for ""Benry" (), he is playing a similar role, but we get to find out more about him and he feels a lot better motivated to be that way then he did in Lost.

I also liked how they advertised the third season;

Person of Interest 3x09 (yep, I caught up) - Spoiler:
The whole John/Joss lovey dovey seemed so forced, they obviously did that just to let her die away gracefully.

I love the whole Ms. Groves related storyline. It's a shame it progresses so slowly.

Him & Her? Never heard of that. You mean paintfull as in "awkward situation humor"? I love Peep Show, so if its that sort of humour I understand how it can be "good painfull".
