Welcome
Then you definetely want to talk with J_Mckallig (I think that's how he spells his name), he is the local speedrun/glitch documenter. Although he hasn't been around for a while now

Here are some threads you might find interesting

Yeah where is Jack? You're right Polly, he hasn't been here in a really long time. I might shoot him an email and ask whats goin on with him.

But Kuky, yeah if you got some glitches then share away. I love glitches.

Welcome Kukybro! I hope you have a nice stay, and ask ahead if you have any questions at all or just want to chat LBA style.

It's nice to be remembered every now and then, thanks guys!
Just checking in for a moment, 'cause it's pretty hectic right now. So much to tell, so much to do, and so little time. Again, if there's anything specific you like to ask, I'm notified of any posts so just go ahead and I'll come back in

Tell me your ideas, what shortcuts did you find, even if only theoretical?

So yeah, last week i've been routing this together with NeverendGNV on twitch, and we came up with a pretty solid route, mixing some ideas from a no weapons run + the speedrun on SDA, so i got some questions about possible sequence breaks / optimization, here we go:

- In the description of the no weapons run video, the guy mentioned and i quote "Someone has stated that they have gotten into the Dark Monk statue without having to use the key...", if magic lvl 4 is not needed to damage the minions / FunFrock at the statue, and this is actually possible, the run should be probably under 30min (current Any% WR is 55:52 by me), so if you got any info on how to accomplish this i would appreciate it a lot.

- Optimization wise, would be trying to avoid the RNG stuff (Casino + key drop in the bar) and min/max effectiveness on the save/load jump glitches, if you have any ideas i would love to hear them

Thanks in advance.

Currently no one has found a way to (prove to be able to) get into the statue without the key. Without that key, I should be able to do it in 20 mins, probably. The thread about that statement is very old, and we believe it was a hoax. But nevertheless a lot of us have tried to get in there without the key, and so far without success.

What do you mean by RNG stuff? The casino hassle could be skipped by cheats, assuming cheats are allowed.

I do have a few effective tips on the JSB however. For instance, if you want to get the space suit inside the main building on Emerald Moon, you should take the middle door. On the pillar to the left of the inside air-lock door, there are three lights that iterate while the air-lock is in effect, and you can actually jump on them using the JSB, which make the total jump onto the door a lot shorter. I bet nobody knows you can stand on top of those lights

There is a little shortcut between the Otringal downtown and the harbor, as you can JSB over the fence from the inside (near the casino), skip the "stairway" and simply jump off the high edge onto the bench downstairs. This skips fighting the Red Laser Soldier guys, both the ones blocking the bridge between the casino and souvenir shop, and the ones on the stairs down to the harbor. You can use the same trick at the fence near the souvenir shop, when traversing the connection elevators behind the shop.

There's a lot of shortcuts I found that make your life a lot faster, but maybe we should maintain a list for that somewhere.

I see what you mean about the space suit, but playing the game single segment without the lightning spell is like scratching your eye with a needle, not very pleasant.

The mosquibees ball game to get the second blowgun is just nuts without LS and there's the statue at the end, LS helps a lot there.

Those shortcuts you mentioned i've used when the route was using the pistol to get in the under-gas.

Oh yeah, cheats shouldn't be used on a run, i guess we should keep legit on that front.

I'll do some runs on that crazy non LS strat, feel free to come by to laugh at me failing.

Thanks a lot for all the tips btw, really helpful stuff.
