Post [ANY%] Advanced LBA Speedrunning Guide

I decided on writing a much more comprehensive guide on lba speedrunning, one that would help explain certain parts or tricks for people who may not be that involved in running the game. It has 5 sections as of this writing, where i talk about the route, the big techniques, and overall know-how. The guide itself probably can't be used on its own to get a world record, watching a run is always a great idea to get the route down since so much is happening that can't be explained. Reading the guide however, can help you understand certain strategies that seem complicated on first glance, and give a better understanding of the game overall. Feedback is always appreciated of course.

Well i could make a screenshot for every area, then maybe draw lines for where to actually go? I could give it a go, then you guys can decide wether it works or not.

When you have different routes, use different colors, that will make even easier.

I feel my guide could have been made a lot shorter and concise. Much of what i'm saying is unnecessary directions that could have been figured through watching a simple run. Perhaps i should remake it in some way..

I really like the idea of showing an overview of the route via screenshots of areas. Granted that is a lot of work though.

This is really good! A couple of suggestions:

Make sure there's a key for every action (kill, talk, meca skip etc)

Have consistent colors for each screen (like you're doing with -->light red and dark red<---)

If you ever get to do all the run through, the collection of images would be a superb album to include somewhere.

Also, the better and more info you figure out to put on your first screens the easier and more consistent it'll be down the line. (like if you figure you should add an icon for something when you've already done like 100 screen)

Thanks for the suggestions! I think i will add a screen to the top right that will tell what items you have and your current kash balance. When you're talking about icons, do you mean like an icon for talking, killing, meca jumps etc?

Yea I mean like lets say halfway through making your images you realize it would be a good idea to include some symbol that indicates some action (like reloading the save, using a clover etc) then you'll have to retroactively add it everywhere you missed it previously. It might help to do some planning and assign icons before you start doing the rest.

Also, perhaps different color lines for different behaviors?

In general, use a key for common things like kill, speak, meca, reload etc. And on screen text for things you do once or twice (like 'pour syrup' or 'buy gas)

I think the green color stands out more, but it's your call, red is fine too in my opinion. Yeah, aggressive mode will make it tedious to make I can imagine with not all that much payoff, removing it to me sounds fine.

Nice! That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking!

I think green is better. And yea just remove aggressive mode and assume you switch in and out of if to kill people
