LBA 1 End Sequence

Has anyone ever noticed how many animation flaws there are in the end sequence of LBA1 - for instance, when Zoe and Twinsen fall from the ledge the Sendell's medallion goes through Twinsen's body. Wierd how you don't notice these things until you try and make your own perfect 3d creations.

Actualy I didn't notice it anyway
I suppose the end sequence is the most likely to have errors, because it might have been rushed for the deadline.

Hey, speaking of that - I only saw the movie like TWICE in my whole life- I'd KILL to see it again... Does anybody have it on Avi or anything? I'd love to see it again...

Or you can get the (flade) movie viewer from the MBN files section and play the movie (no sound, though).
So you could download the savegame from the MBN files section and go right to the end

The savgame files are your best bet. There is one which lets you walk straight to the end sequence, surprisingly titled "The End".

Hmm, I never noticed any glitches in the ending sequence as well...

The best way to see the movie again without actually playing it is to play the sequence using Flade, while playing this midi file at the same time

There are a lot of clipping errors in LBA (actualy about all games featuring real 3D characters and/or FMV have clipping errors). The software wasn't that great back then.
But the biggest glitch I found in the movies of LBA 1 and 2 is that Twinsen is not alays the same. The sleaves of his tunic change a lot... And twinsen even has a beer belly in the movie where he crashes the UFO on Twinsun

Damn, those guys REALLY love LBA...

El, yeah exactly the Twinsen on the ferry movie going to Desert Island has a tunic like the Twinsen in the end sequence in LBA2.

FB: This was with the FMV and they didn't change that in the PSX version so the same glith will be there to...

The graphical errors don't detract from it being one of the greatest (and longest) game endings ever. In fact you only really notice when looking closely. I just thought it was interesting that a 3d movie can work and be effective, despite a plethora of errors.

Oh, of course I have a save file of the ending... I just can't make LBA1 work anymore! Stupid XP...

And I don't get it, Wacko - what midi file should be put in the background?
I want the sfx and music of the movie

Wacko gave you that midi file so that you could play it in the background while watching the movie, just to get the LBA feel
I think you should use this midi because it's included in the endind as well:

No, that's the one from the intro. Certainly not the ending.

Evil-Twinsen: well, the one I attached in that post. There are no SFX, only that midi file.

Hmm, but a section of it was also included in one of the endings, perhaps that was only in the PSX version...

I actually preferred the ending of LBA2 over lba 1, just preference I guess. It was a pretty good ending for the game, can't argue that, but I've seen others that I think were cool too. For instance, Final Fantasy is just assumed to be good and the end clip for Starcraft was actually well done for it's time.

LBA1's ending was a bit short, although part of it was a sequence showing Twinsen and Zoe walking around Twinsen and there were also three different ones.

LBA2's ending seemed to sudden for some reason, I prefered LBA1's.
--
Allthough theres lots of endings I like.
Majoras Mask ending was great,
The Monkey Island games normal have great endings,
Jet Force Gemini has a extreamly funny ending (But only if your british).

Oh, I love LBA2's ending... More than LBA1, even, I think, though I've only watched it about twice, as I said, about 2 years ago...

And All MI endings own... All Lucas Arts endings own, actually... Notj ust the animation, but cause they're SO long and they always give you a feeling the game is never quite over... I love it
Not to mention all those funny jokes in the end, with the titles.

You mised out "Space Quest"
nah, Luasc Arts are da'bomb:

Grim Fandango
Monkey Island,
Manic Mansion,
Day of the Tentical,
Loom,
Indiana Jones,
Zex (I think that was what it was called, very, very silly)
and probably a load more.
-
The most technicaly impressive point and click is probably StarShip Titanic.
It must have taken them years to render it all....
