The Official Ultimate Star Wars Ep. 3: Revenge of the sith Topic - TM

Holy Crap this movie is cool. By far the best star wars movie yet. Not a single question isn't explained. Please do discuss the awesome power of this movie.

And seriously, if I hear one more person talking about the prequel trilogy as bad again... I'm gonna use my Real Ultimate Power and flip out like a hippo.

I'm going to see it this afternoon as well...unlike some people, I have to get up and go to work/school etc., so the midnight show was pretty much impossible for me.

I'm pretty sure Geogre Lucas misplaced the 'h'.

Surely you can guess.

I'm going to see it in a few days ( I don't like stupid people beeting themselves with cardboard made lightsabers before the movie, or pretending to be Darth Maul with cork made horns on their heads - I don't mind when the fans do it, but the theaters, they make it lame, always at the first day) So I'm going to the movies when the theater is going to be nice and empty, I'm going to buy the biggest pop-corn available, buy the ticket that is directly in front of the screen, and enjoy this masterpiece as musch as I can, no screeming kids, no laughing chavs, piece and quiet.

Snapman, you Infidel, may flees from a tousand camels crawl into your tent!

I'm probably going with my brother after school tomorrow. I'd rather wait til the worst of the fans have gone and seen it, but he's dying to go and someone's gotta go with him.

There are apparently a lot of SW fans here; the biggest convention in the country, and the only official one, were held near where I live.

The film was both good as bad.
There were some really good scenes and eyecandy in it and the plotline itself was quite good, but my god, some of the dialogues sounded like they were written by a child.

Nowhere near as good as the original triology, but entertaining.

Just got back from the film.
Amazing. I expected great things, and it delivered. The action scenes were certainly something, and although the odd scene was ruined by poor camera, most of the scenes were well filmed and no less than what I expected. Storyline wise I felt it filled quite well the questions left unanswered between episode 2 and 4. Tell you what I didn't like though; some of the lines were pretty crap, and Lucas can't direct love scenes for shite. No cookies for him there. When it comes to action though, he knows what he is doing.

Better than the older trilogy? I'm not so sure. I need to watch it again. I'll get back to you on that.

I think my expectations were way too high. I saw it last nite, and while yes, it was kickass, it didn't leave me with the same fulfilled feeling I thought it would have. My friend, who I went with, is a much more casual Star Wars fan, and he thought it was perfect. I don't know. I think that they underused the Darth Vader character in the suit...he was in a total of two scenes, and we heard James Earl Jones read 3 lines. I was disappointed by that...I mean, there is about 20-25 years between Episodes III and Episode IV (if you figure since in Epi III Luke/Leia are born and in Epi IV they are in their early 20's) they could've shown more of black-suit Vader.

I agree with Atre about the lines. I was tempted to shout "Jerry! Jerry!" when Padme told Anakin, rather predictibly and melodramatically that she was pregnant. I think they should've picked up the story at a point where he already knew, and it would be brought about where he would mention it (i.e. "Besides, I have to return from Mustafa to check on my love and my baby" or something like that, with her obviously pregnant). And BTW, did anyone think Padme's little brown suit thing when she confronts Darth Vader was rather skimpy for a chick who was 9 months pregnant? Boy, only she could pull it off.

Other than that, it was very good. I enjoyed it, and the actual emotional tanglings behind why Anakin becomes Vader was quite good. I think Ian McDermid was quite good, but they put too much makeup and whatnot on - he looks too intense and disformed from the emperor of Epi's V and VI. It was interesting to learn why he becomes disfigured though.

I know many compare this ending to that of Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, because it doesn't have a "happy" ending and whatnot. But I just left the movie kinda thinking that this was it? I guess my expectations were impossibly high to fulfill, but oh well. Perhaps when it comes out on DVD later this year I will able to properly judge it again.

BTW, did anyone see Lucas' cameo? I completely missed it, and some said it was pretty obvious.

Episode IV is 19 years after Episode III. I personally really liked the ending.

I loved how they were able to tie up the two trilogies at the end in such little time.
Well, i really loved the dark emotional story in episode three. Similar to the emotional scenes in episode six near the end.

I'm going to see it next weekend. And I think I'm going more to just be entertained than to be impressed by everyone's acting skills and etc.

SW3 broke the record of Shrek 2 for most income for one day with 50million. Let us see if in the first weekend it'll break Spiderman 2 record aswell.
