What is your favorite album ever, and why?

I know there was a post recently about the top ten tracks ever...but this is about albums, and what your favorite album ever is, and why....

Mine would have to be either OK Computer by Radiohead (because it has wonderful melodies, its both simple and complicated, funny and dark, and has some truly lovely songs...Paranoid Android?) or Jean Michel Jarre's Chrononlogie, because it is an epic, wonderfully atmospheric, and concise album (and I like short great albums more than long so-so albums), and the synthesizer sounds are great(its the only synth album I've ever heard that isn't repetetive AND has great tunes..u should really check this one out if you think electronic music is souless or boring!)

What about you?

Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
One of the rare albums that is perfect from the start to the end. It makes you excited and then relaxed with Fluff, does not become boring in any moment... it´s the kind of album that other bands should base on.

I have 3 faves at the moment:

1) Bleach ~ Nirvana: cos its so raw and powerful, before grunge began to ruin Cobain's sanity

2) The Bends ~ Radiohead: cos the lyrics are beautiful and radiohead are possibly the best band around today

3) Emmerson, Lake and Palmer ~ ELP: because prog will never die!!! This is a wondersul fusion of classic and rock with some very interesting, alternative results

Fave albums are Origin of Symmetry by Muse. Not one bad track on the album. The songs are very dramatic. Showbiz is also very good, but OoS just beats it.

JJ72 by JJ72 is a great first album by a band. Some great songs on there like 'Long Way South', 'Snow' and 'October Swimmer'. They haven't done anything new for ages though.

I also quite like Permanent: 1995 by Joy Division at the moment, even though it is just basically a greatest hits compilation, with their tracks re-worked a bit. Still, it's a very good album with a few classics (Atmosphere, Love will tear us apart, Transmission)

Morden: What's FineLines by My Vitriol like? I saw it yesterday in my local record shop in the 2nd hand section and was quite tempted to buy it.

Double-J: I´m not a big fan of Ozzy and Black Sabbath, but this album is way too good for my resistance.
The angry: Wow, you´re the first person that I see that doesn´t prefer Pictures at an Exibition instead of the first album :]

Hmmm.. This is hard...

Ill go for Bruce Springsteen's Born To Run
and (original ) I have to go for Hybrid Theory, it has 11 quality songs (track 11 isnt really a song) and that is pretty unique.

Very hard to choose but (I choose this record this time) the album I've been banging for a very long time is Gang Starr's 98 release "Moment of Truth". Both DJ Premier and Guru are in their aces, very solid and tight production laced by the one and only (my favorite producer) DJ Premier and not forget about his fantastic cuts and scratch-hooks. Guru shines through the entire album with both lyrically and flow (he may not be the best MC around but still). The chemistry between the couple was shown once again. 20 tracks, 70 minutes and not a single bad track. Too bad no one else here listens to hiphop, I don't have anyone to discuss with .

Umm, come of think of it "Nas - Illmatic" deserved that short review. Aww, too late.

Hmm hard.

Maybe "Moment of Glory" - Scorpions, or "Lightflow" - Aural Planet.

Maybe not.

Alchemist: seeing as you're from Scandinavia and like hip hop... have you heard of Ugress?

Stripe, never heard of him. Checked the site, sounds more like bigbeat/drum-n-bass to me.

Some good songs are on there, but also very bad ones in my opinion...

I'm tempted to say Millencolin - Pennybridge Pioneers, because it's one of the only albums of which I've loved every single song. Now, I like Bad Religion - The Process of Belief more, although a couple of the songs aren't very good. Only a couple, mind you, the rest are absolute class

This is not easy.
I must choose between Dark side of the moon , and Wish you were here.
Both by Pink Floyd , I guess it will be Dark side of the moon.
