Last piece of my album...

Well, I've got the 18th and last (not last in the tracklist, but last *made*) piece of my album ready.

It's rather short, and even though Atresica claims it still needs work, I like it as it is...

The amazing thing is that including this track, my album is now EXACTLY 80 minutes... So even if I wanted to, I couldn't add another second

I wrote this piece after listening a whole lot to Philip Vachey's "Honeybee"... I don't know if it came out similar, but it's definitely a lot "darker" than Honeybee. Some of the trumpets were definitely influenced, though not copied, from that song.

It's called "Facing The Edge", and it's 1:58 minutes long.

Oh, and at last I've got much better drums in this song
Too bad I found these drums so late.

EDIT - OH, I forgot... This is also the first piece I composed only by using Reason... That means there's no midi this time... Not cause it sux or anything, just cause it doesn't exist...

Facing The Edge
9 Instruments (By Order Of Appearance) -
Orchestra Strings #1
Flute
Trumpet
Violin
Drums
Contrabass
Orchestra Strings #2
Bright Piano
Acoustic Guitar

Great, as you know E-T, this will take a while to download, so I listened to the first 5 seconds on streaming media Dude, that trumpet sample is amazing, very realistic. I could tell you were influenced from Honeybee, been listening to it recently as well, the trumpets in the beginning carried through to the end are great

More comments when the download finishes

Edit> Nice piece as usual, the beginning reminds me of Honey Bee, after that the piece takes on its own tune, I think it's fine as it is, since it's a shorter piece it shouldn't be 'packed' with instruments and other complications

And as usual thanks for the comments.

Kaderboy, the trumpets especially are influenced by Honeybee (btw, what a terrible name for such awesome piece...), but not in the notes they play, but in the ROLE they play... They're supposed to be repetitive and sort of "help you" find a familiar tune throughout the piece. Honey be does taht a LOT, the trumpet there has a repeating tune also (Something like ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-TA-TA, if by any chance u'd have any idea what I mean).

That's most probably why this piece reminded you of Honeybee, as well as the cymbals I used here (I never used cymbals so far, just cause I had no idea there WERE cymbals in this software ).

Btw, I just realized I left out the Piano and Acoustic gutiar from the list of instruments... Stupid me. I edited the first post.
So there are NINE instruments, not seven, which makes it, I guess, a bit more "packed" with instruments .

Not for a while, I'm afraid

Tomorrow morning I'm gonna go fill out all the forms needed to reserve copyrights for this music, and then I'll start using my connection to maybe make some label want to publish this music and help me finance the recording.

In the meanwhile I need to find out if this won't clash with writing for Adeline. I mean, I need to check if it's possible to have this also enlisted as my own personal album, and for it to be used in any of Adeline's games. I assume it won't be a problem.

Yeah, the trumpet riffs sort of provide the support or framework of the whole piece I didn't think much of the title either, probably wasn't Vachey's main concern
