Just for the record: My understanding was (correct me if I'm wrong) that Jesse is usually in favor of discussing things out, so even if I don't see much of a chance of changing his mind completely, it still makes me happier to have said everything I wanted to say. In my opinion a 24h ban is a slap on the wrist that isn't disproportionate to the degree of obnoxiousness and incorrigibility displayed at the beginning of this thread.

That's all I wanted to say about this and I won't push this further. Hope the problems can still go away.

Funny how you say that now, but when Polly said that talking about "spending time with the gentle and beautiful women" doesn't sound quite right, you threw a massive tantrum over days. Can we agree that was making a hurricane in an espresso cup? :P

I'll gladly repeat it a third time. You don't want us to feel disrespected, but our emotions are wired that way, and just saying "Chill, I'm joking so please like me" isn't going to change that wiring. So if you don't want us to feel disrespected, what can you do?

That was completely something else;
1. He revived an old thread just to insult me implying a "creepy" and "objectifying" behaviour of me as a person
2. It didn't make any sense as confirmed by pretty much everyone else [1][2][3] and he never conceded that they didn't make sense, 'till the end he held his pride, he never retracted his insults, which is why it went over days. Whereas he could have just admitted and said "sorry, what I said was stupid".

Now, what I ""did"" to you was just reply your comment directed at me with a joke. I then promptly said it was just harmless entertainment and that I didn't mean any disrespect.

And you already went overboard from the start, asking for a 24h ban. And reiterating your request a 2nd time despite everything I said. *sigh*

Conclusion:
You fail to see fundamental differences here in such an obvious scenario of completely different proportions, and that brings me a lot of doubts about you, of your capacity to make accurate judgements over others. It's quite unnerving to see someone take such disparate conclusions and not realise it.

I didn't talk about that incident (where we all, including Polly, agree that he acted a bit rashly there). In the case I'm talking about he did a constructive criticism of your word choice.
