Hello

Hi, folks!

I'm just playing around with C++, Qt, OpenGL and LBA1 (one of my favorite childhood games) HQR-files.

And I think I might be able to find some useful informations here (skeletal animation.. harder than i thought!).

Cheers!

Welcome solarix.
If you want to try with LBA2 models, have a look at the project https://github.com/agrande/lba2remake

Hi xesf,
thanks! I'm impressed of all that lba-related work out there. My own 3d-model-viewer wouldn't run without the help of the twin-e source code. Btw: https://github.com/xesf/twin-e/blob/...rc/flamovies.c line 265: don't "return", just "break", because with "return" the whole frame is dropped. TEMPLEBU.FLA looks better if you just "break" on unknown OP-Codes

Thanks for your hint! Looks similar to lba1-models. HQR with compression, Support of UV-Maps, ... but overall: I think I should/can support it too (as fast as i get that ******** bone-animation managed )

Thanks for pointing that issue. It does make all sense.
I've pushed that change into the source code, also fixed some building issues on Mac OS X.
Still for some reasons I cannot get the game to work on my new setup. The game plays, but no image displayed, seems to get stuck somewhere.

LBA2 animations are pretty similar to LBA1, but more inline with today's standards. I think it will be easier to adapt.

THis page is a bit outdated but could help you understand what is out there in terms of tools: https://forum.magicball.net/showthread.php?t=7000

Can't reproduce that, sorry. On Ubuntu, the lastest develop-branch compiles and runs very well..

Looks like its an issue with the Mojave OS version.
Eventually it needs to be ported using SDL 2, or just use the effort to add compatibility to the LBA2 remake project instead

Yes, there are multiple issues with 10.14 and SDL out there.

Like this "Fix window issue on macOS 10.14 -Window will be blank until an event occurs": https://github.com/simple2d/simple2d...e769a4e906a845

But I don't think this "SDL_PumpEvents()" solves your issue, because in twin-e exists already a SDL_PumpEvents() during the initial phase.

Sorry, I can only guess...
