LBAWin volume controls in Windows 7

They do not work. As in, some don't even move (eg. the music control), while some move but have no effect (eg. CD Audio). Only Master Volume works.

I wonder if there's a fix out there for that? Generally, the default settings are good, but I put in the Japanese voices and they are lower in volume than other voices so they get kind of lost when the background music is at the loudest parts.

I think this is due to Direct Sound used by LbaWin is now deprecated in late versions of Windows.
I don't think changing the values in the config file will do any change, but you can give a try.

I managed to change the Midi music volume by first configuring midi to pipe through VirtualMidiSynth (allowing me to use soundfonts), and then turning the volume on VirtualMidiSynth's own mixer. Getting this set up is a little tricky and you need to edit the DOSBox configuration.

However the game swaps between midi and "CD" music (in fact the original CD music encoded into some digital audio format). I believe changing one of the volume options in lba.cfg can change *that*.

So it is possible but requires quite a bit of trial and error and just blind luck
