Childish Mind

Tell me all your beliefs/ambitions/fantasies/ideas/fictions/etc. you had when you were kids.

Let's start... with me.
  • I wanted to make all the links in Netscape be purple, by pressing on every link on the internet.
  • I wanted to have an infinite hole. It would be a little thin round thing - one side of it would appear like leather, but the other side will actually be an infinite black hole. You can throw anything in there and it would keep falling forever.
  • A talking finger. My forefinger would have the ability to turn into a magic talking dude thing with a funny black hat, which will give advices and cheer me up all through my life.
I'll post some more things if this thread will succeed

Come on, tell yours.

I wanted a device that allows me to view numbers in open space, and when I press the respective number on the device, I will be automatically teleported to the location of that number.

damit, so many of my ideas i thought were "mine" you have all had
The time idea is old, obviously, there has been a few childrens programs about that.
But the substance with reverse weight?
I was going to make a hoverboard with it.

oh well, no one has mentioned a conversion of an old GameBoy and a clock into a reality manipulation device
I used to think the imaginations and beliefs of the each person on earth contributed to reality we see. Thus by messing with there minds I could change reality as I saw fit.

come to think of it...I still think that.

/me goes off to make his device.

Do you reckon all kids have these fantasies or just those who like LBA

A pause device like in Woof would have been ace. Plus a star trek styled communicator that had a range of more than a few feet

I want to make a Delorian into a time machine, that works based upon a flux capacitor, and at the exact moment the auto reaches 88 mph, we can teleport either forward and backwards in time, greater than the speed of a particle of light in a vaccuum, defying the laws of physics.

...

Oh shit...you mean they stole my idea and made a movie! Those fucking hollywood bastards!

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

Something a friend told me:
Under each street lamp there is a little cell inside the ground. Inside each cell there seats a man which his job is to light up the lamp when it's dark. And when it's morning again he lights it off.

He actually believed in it!

I created worlds with places in my surroundings, and gave places names. Nations and wars were created, perhaps I will one day write a book about the underevaluated kingdom of Dustheap and Yellowseacurtain and Forestland and Redsealand etc.

Man, that was a pretty good show. I remember watching Red Dwarf when I was quite young and wanting my own fucking massive ship, that would be cool.

The TV series is based on a book. I have it.

I sometimes wanted to have an eye on the end of my index finger.

Whoa, so many..

I wanted to save my school from terrorist which were invading it.

Also, I wanted some girl I used to like to fall into a raging river, so i could jump after her and save her with my 1337 swimming skillz.
(Cruel of me, I know )

Umm, I also had this very weird fantasy where I'm on a plane that crashes, and i'm the sole survivor. The plane crashed in the alps or something, so i wander the mountains and find a hut with a girl that lives alone out here in the mountains, away from civilization. We fall in love and live happily ever after, etc.

I wanted to have a secret room beneath my room, where from I control satelites and I can observe any place in the world. Heck, I still do.

You sure? Mine says "Now an amazing BBC TV series!" which implies the book was written first. And some random website says "Aquila won the 1997 Whitbread kiddies' Book Prize, and was subsequently televised by the BBC".

I used to wish my soft toys were alive... but I'm not sure I actually ever believed they really were.
