The Fortress Door Bug
Another common problem, but this one seems to be caused by the DOS 7 that comes with Windows 9x. When trying to get into FunFrock's fortress on Principal Island, sometimes the doors leading into the fortress don't open, even though you hear the sound and the key icon shows above Twinsen's head. If this happens, there are a number of things you can try:

1. go into zoom mode (F5) and then back to normal view (thanks to FenikS for that hint)
2. read the Book of Bù, and when you return to the game they should open (thanks to Leviat on the MBN forums for that)
3. just wait around for a while!
