Doesnt work for me either,it starts up,changes to 800x600,and shows the lbax logo. After 20 seconds,I get an error, then an error from windows(send error report thingy, winxp),and then goes to a dark screen, and if I move around the mouse abit, there are 2 circles in the top left corner, those move around and the screen brightens to orange then back to black.

Could you use another format other than ACE as well, as a suplement, in the future as WinACE thingy expires after 30 days and becomes very annoying, and its not the most common either...

If so, thanks

Here's what I noticed after trying the beta:

On the main menu, when I go to options, the sound plays about 50 times very quickly before letting me get off the option.

In the game, it runs very slowly on my 1ghz pC with geforce 2 MX card and 768mb of ram and is unplayable (this is with latest nvidia drivers)

When I exit the game, I get an error sound, although no error is shown

In the map editor, in the floor editor thing, I just click and randomly squares appear somewhere or other no where near where I am clicking, is this what is meant to happen?

When I exit the map editor, it crahes and XP shuts it down.

-Ace was the one that made the whole thing smaller; it was quite
important since I'm uploading with a 56k modem
-on my pIII 733, geforce2mx, 192 mb of ram and winxp, it's around
15fps; are you sure you have latest detonator? Btw, optimization is coming...
-I will release soon a map tutorial.

PS is it possible to have your Lba2 texture set?

Of course you can have my texture set, consider it thanks for what you have done for the lba community I'm going to upload it onto my site soon, but that may take a while, so if you want, email me with the board email button thing, and I'll reply and attach the zip. If you do this, let me know whether you want just lba2 textures, lba1 textures (which I've OI've now done half of) or both.

Ace must be really quite good if it can shrink something so small, I guesss I should get used to new things better

I dont suppose you could be kind enough to give me the version number of the current detonator drivers?

It's nice to see a delphi programmer, I too use delphi as my main language

Good luck with your project

Great work.

Yes, the demo works with that patch.
Cant wait to try with collisions and such turned on.

One slight thing, the camera movement should be restricted because its odd it can move 360*360 at the moment under twinsen.

Ok, this is the 2nd time I write this post, the first one, after writing a whole page, It asked my for password again, and then I got a bullettin error and my post was disappeared.
So now I'm quite angry, forgive me...

I've been working on this thing for one year (started december 2002)
I'm thinking about stop develpoing this project because:
1: After one year spending 3-6 hours on this project, I think now it can be the time for doing something else. But this is not the main reason. I can go on making this game more for the community than for myself...
2: Never received help except for web hosting, and a small home page.
Many people offered help, everyone of them disappeared.
3: It seems that 2-3 people tried the demo, and I received very little feedback. I was needing everything you can say about that, the interface, the sounds, the models, the style, the fact you can tlòy with dinolfy, etc etc etc...
4: Many people started their own project after Lbax, nobody tought about joining. I respect their decision. Anyway we will probably have 5-6 never finished - discontinued projects instead of a finished one.
It would be nice to develop the same project with other people. And It seems that other people here are programming in Delphi... forgive me, I just can't understand this thing.

So, if things will go on this way, I probably stop develpoing this project. I'm not angry at all (about that, I'm angry just because of the browser error ), it's all about motivations.

I have uploaded a .zip file with the LBA v2 demo AND the patch already applied so you just need to unzip and play!
And, as always, the .DLL files are included.

It's at http://sindowstudios.hopto.org/lbax/LBAx2.zip

Dude, i just started campagning for you to get your own forum!
In the meantime i have made this thread sticky, and put it at the top.
People probably havnt been paying attention because of all the other disapointments....dont worry, they will

I havnt tested enough of the demo to comment yet, dont worry i will.

This is by far the most promissing, developed LBA fangame so far...dont give up

The MBN gives LBA related projects the ability for their own forum on the MBN. All you have to do is let the project leader contact El_Muerte with the details. Your project will then be reviewed to test if you project deserves a forum on the MBN.
You might want to do that

Second: You can even ask El for hosting
Third: I tried your demo and it was very very impressive.
Fourth: Dude, enough people do care!

Keep on going cos something's bound to be a winner in the end!

You want help with this project? I thought you had help from people already:

1) I have a proper hosted .com site and I'd be glad to host you properly there if you want, subdomain or folder, php mysql etc if you're interested.

2) I'm pretty good at 2d art. If you need any textures (new or from lba) let me know and I can make them for you

3) 3d wise I can model stuff like lba kind trees, buildings, anything that isn't a vehicle or a complex person/animal (those I can do, just not as well)

4) I can program in Delphi, but I am not familiar with the opengl engine you are using, nor do I use delphi for anything other than applications. I use other languages for 3d work. If you do want any help with delphi, let me know and I'll see if I'm at all use to you.

5) General stuff such as writing help files, guides, installers etc. I can do too

===

If any of the stuff is of help to you, please contact me and I'd be glad to help

I can be working on voice-acting, even if I'm 14 years old. I've bought a microphone a month ago in unique quality.

But I got an access error when starting the demo. But for the map editor it still works.

i really want to help testing, but because i don't have much time, cuz i'm a developer myself, i can't contribute to the project other than that, i though will give you tips and be glad to test the project, i also know a very skilled composer, he might be interested as he's trying to get a little fame in the gameindustry

PM me to arrange all that plz
