Patch.bat is a file in your LBANet folder. It's a programm that you run from your PC that will automatically update you to the latest version. No more downloading necessary for you.

I will do my best to contribute (despite my bad English) to the success of LbaNet but I don't see where in the bugtracker I can report bugs :s

Otherwise I can talk about LbaNet to Frenchs and so hope to see more people in the game

Hi guys,

Lately I was playing a little bit with the ogre rendering engine.
So I built a small demo showing up how lbanet could look like in the future if we were using ogre.
You can find the demo here: http://lbanet.googlecode.com/files/Lbanet_ogre.rar

By the way before getting comments about it, yes I know that:
- there is a lot of glitches, especially with the shadow stuff
- the demo has a very slow framerate
However, this was just a quick test to see wether it was possible to use ogre at all or not,
and so with some work I am now confident that it would be possible to use it.

Also, I will not put that task on high priority because we have already a decent rendering engine.
I would rather prefer to focus and gameplay for now like adding inventory and npc.
However it was just to let you know that it will be reality one day

Rincevent

PS: this demo is independant from lbanet and does not need any data to run. Everything is already build in.
So do not unpack the archive in the lbanet directory, just keep things separated.

PS2: thats great news Goofylife :-)

Not bad.
+1 works in Windows 2000
-1 having a stylus really mess's it up.

Did you install the bricks images as well?
You can find the installer here: http://lbanet.googlecode.com/files/LbanetImageSetup.msi

But it looks to me like a bigger problem since you also do not have the image of twinsen in the corner.

Could you give me shortly your pc configuration?
-operating system
-cpu
-graphic card

As a first shoot I would say try to update your video card driver. You should not use the windows standards drivers
which are pretty bad for opengl support. Better use the drivers from your card manufacturer directly.

Yes I install that ...

Win. XP
Intel Celeron 730MHz
RAM 512MB

graphic card:
Intel 82810E 32MB

I think the problem is my (wood) pc

Edit: I see Twinsen in the corner when I don't play in fullscreen ...

Try to install this driver for your video card:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/down...=4657&lang=eng

I see that your configuration indeed is pretty old.
The graphic card need to support texture of size 2048x2048 to render the map texture. Maybe this is the issue.

did you try the driver?
If it does not work then I am afraid that it will indeed be hard to make it work.

Goofy I do not know, as you said we have pretty spare place for the interface already.
So it will not have high priority but at later stage we could think about a way to hide it and make it visible at will.

Anyway, the best would be that you put that in the suggestion part of the forum so that we do not forget about it.

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you know that the development will be a bit on hold this week.
But I hope to be able to get the inventory stuff finished next weekend.

I found this project yesterday and I am very impressed! What a great idea for a game.

Unfortunately, I am having trouble running it. I am running Windows 7 (64-bit) on a dual-core intel 3.2 ghz with 4 gb ram, and a 9800 GT nvidia card..

Initially the game would not load and crashed on startup. If you are running Vista or Windows 7 and get a crash on startup, it might be because your .NET framework is disabled. To get around this I loaded the control panel and clicked on "turn windows features on or off". I put a check mark beside Microsoft .NET Framework, and now the game loads.

However, the game only runs at 4-5 fps on my system, and I have the same white tiles problem that B2b has. I am using the latest Nvidia drivers (191.0.x) from my manufacturer. Could this have something to do with OpenGL? How can I test if OpenGL hardware acceleration is working?

Anyone have a suggestion on how to get this running? I would really love to get this going so I can write an article about the project on Artfulgamer.com

Thanks!

Hi artfulgamer,

For the white tiles, it is because you are missing the images archives: http://lbanet.googlecode.com/files/Image_v0.4.rar
You need to unpack them into your game folder. You can find the installation instructions there: http://forum.magicball.net/showpost....03&postcount=2

As for the 4-5 fps, it really seems like OpenGL hardware acceleration is not working. But this is strange since you said you have the latest driver from nvidia.

I do not have windows 7 yet and I personnaly couldn't test the game yet on it so this operating system is not officialy supported. However a few people have already run the game there with no issue so I am confident that it should work fine.

You might want to check this application for your opengl issues: http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/download.html
