That must be because you've never listened to good hi-fi !
It changes everything, if your music's well recorded.

Doesn't change things that much, since you hear less on low-end systems as well (at least, if you're not half-deaf).

Imagine it like a magnifier, or a monitor. If the definition of you're picture is good, having a big screen will make it possible to have deeper colours, you'll be able to see more details, finer lines thanks to the resolution.
But as long as you have only your old small 1280x720 phone screen, you can't really perceive what you're missing exactly.

Basically what I'm saying is, come visit me in Paris, we'll listen to music on my father's system

Why not, which time period did you have in mind ? I'll be in France around the 16th of November if I remember correctly. I could come in December as well I suppose.

<3 Wow !!! I am in love with these custom-built wood speakers. Genius! Love everything about that room too, seems cozy and I love all that vintage equipment too !

The only thing left to do in that room would be some acoustic treatment, you'll get an even tighter and more precise sound without the occasional reverberations/reflections off the walls and ceilings.

Other than that, parfait !!

LOL we audio-lovers are like that ain't we, we just can't get enough. Me, too, I have one setup in my studio: higher quality gear that is setup for monitoring, flat-response and all for mixing; and another in my living room where I work and spend most of my time, which is the "fun" setup, not aiming at being so precise, and more aimed at just sounding great with a distinct signature sound that pleases me and incorporating vintage elements.

I don't think these are custom built, but every part of the speaker is from a different set. If I remember correctly, this exact set-up was quite popular in the 70s.
Room treatment is complicated in your own bedroom, but since the room itself is a bit small, reverb isn't an audible problem.

Hey, you have to share pictures of your own system now

Oh really?

I thought it was in a grenier about this size so that would cause some serious reverb haha. If its a bedroom, that's ideal!

About speakers: again, really? I've never seen speakers like that (the mid-range ones) built into wood! Usually those are plastic or metal, molded in factories... its much harder to shape solid wood like that! And, the sub cabinet seems handcrafted too, with all the screws showing, and it's overall size is a bit out of proportion with the rest... and the way the tweeters are just hanging out sitting on top of it... they look like modern tweeters too... all these impressions made it seem like a custom built kit!! But, well, pas mal, all in all, that's still just as cool. 70's gear!

Nah, no pics of mine, it is not quite as (visually) impressive as your father's. When I get rich and get to that point, I will haha.

Cool! So how does that work, is it just you, and you have a "playback" of your songs while you just play the lead melodies, or what?

When I used to play live it was as a guitarist in a band. But you're a solo electronic dude so I have no idea how your live performances work haha.
