About the current vBulletin version.
I was to post this a while ago, but I didnt.
In both pcs I have this thing happens and only start happen when El update to this new version. The thing is that when we load a forum/thread the forum reload it very fast and we can all page quickly, anyway we can't do anything to that forum/thread during some seconds (if the page is large this increase alot), and this freeze my browser till he finished what he is doing. It seems that is a script that causes this to happen because we can see all the updated content in the browser but vBulletin continue doing something for awhile that kills my browser. Just to know if it happens to you too and if exist a way to fix that.

A similar thing happens to me when I open the forum at work (in IE...). When I open a thread, after the page loads, the browser is stuck for like 5-10 seconds before it can proceed, and I can scroll down/click links/do whatever...

what browser are you using?
hmm.. MSIE doesn't like my signature at all. crappy browser Anyway, you can change the number of post to show in your profile. Reducing the number posts per page might reduce the system load. e.g. "Number of Posts to Show Per Page" and "Default Thread Age Cut Off" in User CP -> options -> Thread Display Options Last edited by elmuerte; 2006-01-19 at 19:25. |

I'm using Maxthon, but it use the MSIE engine.
I test this with Firefox and this doesn't happen. Yes, I use 50 post per page that is better than less, but if isn't a way to fix that I can use it with firefox without problems because I have it here for other things.

Or more saying: Mozilla Firefox is recommended.

LOL.
I have Firefox on my machine for some time but I used for other things like programing. In the first versions Maxthon had some things that Firefox didn't handle so I stick with that, but I saw it currently handle that, so I'm currently using now... and really notice vBulletin is more stable, very stable. Btw El, the ribbon (is that his name?) "Make LBA3 possible" don't work for both MSIE and Maxthon but it work nice under Opera and Firefox.
