If you already have the whole package...

Right then, if you were at ZFGC, chances are you've heard of this. At least, I hope so. That said, be warned; the game you once played is no more. This isn't a fangame any more - nothing's edited. No message boxes, no LTTP Link-in-a-dress, no 'borrowed' explosion sprites. Finished. If you haven't played this before and you like Zelda or indeed gaming, it might well be for you. It's swallowed up the last three years of my life entirely so it can't be all that bad.

Whether or not you've played it before, I suggest you give it a try. There's new stuff in there you'll like and, importantly, it all works. Start to finish, play-through-able, classic adventuring.....stuff. Please play.

the above is a game a good friend of mine has made in gamemaker, it does feel similar to zelda and at some points even lba, its not the prettiest game but its an awesome game with a great story, just thought you guys would enjoy it

Quite awesome indeed! I really like the style of it, reminds me of Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Earthbound and all those other great SNES RPG games
However, I really despise the Gamemaker engine, as well as other engines of that sort.
Your friend should learn some C/C++ and SDL, and make his own engine, or find someone to do it for him.

Also, the music is very nicely done. It really fits.

I have yet to play it enough to progress enough in the game to state that there are more pieces of music, but as far as I can tell, it does indeed have more pieces of music. Hence; "Original soundtrack by Hurtdeer".
If it were just one piece of music, one single tune, then it wouldn't be called soundtrack, now would it?
However, as stated, I do not yet know if this is the case. I will play it more tomorrow to find out myself.

yeah, I assume when he started out making c++ etc was very intimidating and most guys who made games just used gamemaker.. there isnt really anything horrible about gm.. just that it seems a little cheap, but by the end of making this game hes become quite a coding expert :P

i kinda wish he did code it in something more open so a graphic update could easily be implemented
