is twinsen the bad guy?
instead of funfrock?
like, do we have any evidence of funfrock doing bad shit towards other people? for instance: 1. there's police patroling the streets, but they only shoot the runaway prisoner who is verifyably dangerous (see later). They never brutalize citizens? or do they? I vagely remember a grobo for being in prison for sneezing, or is my memory that hazy? So as a resident of the islands, safety is pretty much guaranteed. 2. he doesn't give prisoners a death sentence, even when they are psychotic killers like twinsen. he only slaps them once or twice. 3. you can have a reasonably good life on the northern hemisphere, even become a pharmacist. meaning health is very important on twinsun. 4. there are nurses in the mental hospitals...for the mental health. 5. there used to be dangerous flying dinosaurs on some ancient island, but thankfully he wiped them all out. Safety first! 6. he's a master scientists, even invented cloning and teleportation. he could advance the society so much. lost a limb? he could clone a new arm for you. Lost a family member? boom! new clone version. 7. it's really hot in the southern hemisphere, and there are dangerous animals. he moved the whole population away from there, talk about leadership to pull that off. Twinsen on the other hand: 1. has psychotic dreams, sees animals as people. 2. kills innocent people like the rabbibunny girl in citadel island, and throws people in the water 3. steals from cash registers 4. kills a lot of nurses in the asylum. 5. wrecks important infrastructure, and paintings of walls. 6. wrecks a lot of ancient walls and art! 7. slaps zoe 8. runs around with a sword, making backflips and shit. 9. stamps on flowers. 10. rosa the cow....need i say more? 11. slaps kids in the kindergarten. if you doubt number 1...have you ever had a flower play a musical note if you step on it?

Haha, that's very well researched. He wasn't exactly nice to Zoe though either, and how did poor Zoe deserve all this? Your theory that it's possible to have a benevolent police state also seems... doubtful, given what history taught us about what happens when you give one group lots of power over another group
 Would actually be interesting for an LBA3 to also show some of FunFrock's human sides, given that most players would be adults who'd probably prefer things not to be too black and white.

The first nurse you can speak to in LBA1 (who is also the first NPC you can speak to IIRC) explains why Twinsen is there in quote 269. But the most important part of that quote is:
"Calm down, we're going to dissect... uh, I mean take care of you!" So, they do plan to cut up Twinsen in order to understand why he's having these dreams. Based on where dreaming happens we can assume from this that the Citadel nurses are planning to cut up Twinsens brain and study it in detail (after all, "dissect" isn't just cutting something up). It is unlikely that Twinsen would survive this process, meaning they are planning to kill him. So, I disagree with at least your second point in favour of Funfrock.

Still depending on your behaviour, you can actually walk the streets drunk and punch and kill innocent people. So Twinsen is like an actual human being, not the ideal hero. This is very cool of the game. if I play the game, Twinsen is just as bad as Funfrock, which often is the case in real life hero's and badguys, just depending on the narrative. If Roy plays the game, he's only a bit naughty with cows, but other than that, he's a nice guy. Funny thing, whatever you do, Twinsen is the hero, the chosen one. Maybe in lba3 we can have sendell come down and change the outcome if Twinsen doesn't behave.
