LBATrainer

hey guys,

Have you ever wanted to give yourself more clovers, add that inventory item that you forgot and can't be bothered to back track for? Now you can, all without even closing your game.

Introducing the new never seen before LBATrainer.

Any bugs or issues please let me know. Any requests, feel free to post them. Any missing items please add a list. I'm aware that some items are missing in LBA2, the basic reason is that they're not single value flags, so need more time invested in finding them. They'll hopefully get added eventually

Regards

Phreak

N.B. The source code is also attached if anybody is interested.

Edit: Added ability to toggle quests, and movies for LBA1. I've updated the attached files accordingly

Adding quests was days of my life that I'll never get back. There is however 8/131 quests that still remain unknown, however some of the quest descriptions have been updated from the ones used by the LBASavegameEditor to be more accurate or entirely corrected.

A massive shoutout to Elmuerte's Save game editor however as it made my life so much easier in locating memory offsets to use for the trainer. Quests and movies would never have been added if it wasn't for being able to build upon the work of people who have came before.

Cool thing man!!! I made a similar one around 2006-2007 but somehow I never uploaded it here, don't know why. But since you did yours already, I won't even bother looking for it very nice man, we really appreciate the effort!!!

Dude, if you've made one then upload it, especially if yours works well for LBA2. Mine's missing items currently

In other worlds, they put a message inside an asteroid to protect it while it travels through space to reach some other planet. In this case it is a gift, a guitar, rather than just a message.

Then you're in luck, it does - in your inventory at least. There's no skin model I believe for Twinsen holding the guitar. Alternatively you could use LBASkinRandomiser https://forum.magicball.net/showthread.php?t=18292 to change to the rabbibunny with the guitar

Either way I've got you covered

Hmm I'll have to search for it on my old CDs/DVDs, not sure if I'll find it though but for LBA2 indeed I remember it was very hard for me to get those memory locations and as far as my brain serves me, I only succeeded when I went inside and the view went to isometric. I tried for many days to find those memory locations while out on Desert Island and for some reasons I couldn't get the right addresses, they kept changing. But once I got inside a 2.5D room, I finally caught those things

yeah, they change relative to where LBA loads in memory.

Finding anything in memory is a massive headache though. LBA2 is worse as there's less documentation for it

Have released updated version so wanted to bump the thread. Before anybody mentions it, yes movies is an entirely pointless feature, although it does allow you to view all viewable movies on the TV including the one cut from the game, however the same thing can equally be achived with the save game editor, it was more included for completeness than anything else.

If anybody would like to help with this or any of my other projects please feel free to either PM me on the forum or join the LBA Discord and DM me.

N.B. Some work is just things like playing LBA with a log app running i.e. to identify when quests are triggered, so there's literally things anybody can help with

Nice work Phreak, I am pretty sure is going to get handy for a lot of people.
Thanks for sharing.

Edit: Any mod to move this to LBA Modifications forum?

xesf,

Hopefully . That was the idea of it. I realised I spent a long while making the LBA1AutoSplitter but it only had a tiny pool of potential users, so I wanted to make something more universal that would benefit a wider group of people, and also as a way of giving something back to the community of this increasingly niche game
