Thumbs Up Wanna hear midi files the oldskool way...

Hi again ppl,
Again it's about Time Commando (hehe sorry)...
I managed to run the midi files and .. OH BOY they sound like carp!!! It's a toally different sound that what it used to be in 1997 (with my old pc)...
Now is it correct that "The Clock" mp3 track that is available on the MBN is supposed to sound the same as the 47-49 midi files?
Well the bottom like - can the ppl here who still got their old mid 90's PCs rip the midi files to mp3?
PLEASE!!! I really wanna feel that nostalgic feeling once more, and right now I can't cuz those files sound like a totally different crap.

So in short, you want to make MP3's out of your Midi's? Very simple actually. Get any old sound recording software that can save as MP3 (plenty of free ones around, like Wavepad). Next, go to Windows volume control. Click Options > Properties Recording (tick all boxes) then OK. Tick the Stereo box (usually it's set to microphone). Then, playback the midi with the software recording. Then you'll end up with an exact replica of the midi in MP3 format.
I hope this was what you needed anyway :P

- takashi_maze: Actually, he needs to make MP3's out of MIDI's, while having the music audible as it was on old computers = old Sound Blaster synthesizer instead of the new SW one.

In simple words - he wants MP3's of how the MIDI's sound on an old PC.

You would need an old soundfont file(.sf2), load it to your soundblaster and the game will sound like on an old pc.
