Just watched Lost episode s02e07. Wow.
I don't know what you're talking about sful, they did squeeze it into 45 minutes (this episode was 3 minutes longer than usual) and they did an excelent job at this, an amazing job actually. They managed to give me all the info I needed about those fellas and it didn't even feel like a squeezing. Brilliant. Lost is the best thing ever, seriously badly yesly.

I'll agree with CF on this one. This episode was great, and it didn't feel like squeezing at all.

Yeah, this was a great wrap-up, clearing up a couple of things (like the radio conversation with Boone). I'm glad they just put it in one episode and wouldn't make it a subset of episodes "what happened with the other survivors".

Now I'm still curious what happens with Shannon, Sayid and Ana Lucia. The summary of the new episode says "violence errupts", sounds promising. Sayid looked kind of pissed off, maybe he'll go berserk or something.

Now that the survivors are together, we still have: the Others (who are strong yet defeatable - what are they up to?) and the Doomsday Device. I guess they'll go into one of these again in the episode after the next one.

And there's still the Black Rock too, btw.

I've started watching Firefly, as recommended in some thread about 'the best sci-fi ever' or something, and also to be extra prepared before seeing the Serenity movie! So far (3 episodes) the show is indeed mighty fine, I simply love it. It resembles Cowboy Bebop a bit, the way they go through space in a small ship with a small crew. I'm already feeling sad about the few number of episodes, like when I started watching Dead Like Me season 2...

4400 becomes increadibly mainstream scriptwise and storywise after the first 2-3 episodes.

About the latest Lost episode, it was nice to have a fluent episode without flashbacks. We know quite a lot about the characters already (at least the old crew), I'm not really interested in knowing more about them, at least for now. The last flashback was crappy anyway (Shannon).
It was a bit crappy, yeah, even though I like Shannon a lot. I expected them to be a little more in depth about things, but I guess it was fine the way they did it. I just wanted a little more? The episode seemed to end too quickly for me. Anyway, I am a little glad they aren't putting off letting us know what Sayid's reaction is going to be to that whole little tense situation-thingy.

Spoiler:

Oh! People have been saying that the body Eko dragged out of the water was Jack's father?

(links in this post here are season 2 spoilers! (only it's first episodes though))
lol @ This site. It actually made me go "is this for real??" for one tiny second

I just noticed something cool. Remember the "tadadadada-ta, tadadadada-ta ..." music from the Dharma Initiative 3/6 presentation (watchable here)?
Watch the first episode of the first season (the pilot) again if you have it on your computer. After Jack wakes up and stands up, he takes out a bottle of scotch from his pocket. In this momet listen carefully - you'll hear a short "tadadadada-ta ..." sequence!

I wonder if this music has any meaning.

Lost s2e8
Spoiler:
Yes, I liked that too, also Bernard and his wife.

It was great how the two groups not just mingled and that was that, but they first clashed and had to go through some hard stuff (Ana Lucia and Sayid).

American TV audience should be slaughtered.

THRESHOLD, IS, FUCKING, CANCELLED........... WHY? Because "Ghost Whisperer" has more rating.
GHOST WHISPERER! Has anybody seen that shit? I did, and it's horrible. This is so unfair. If I could, I'd do to the US tv rating meter the same thing we did to the Top 50 Games list.

Choas ~ Just give up any hope of TV ever. I did long ago.
The rateing system and the whole advert/tvstation/funding system is just horrible.
Be patent, when pay-per-eppisode internet distribution TV gets a foot in the door quality will skyrocket. (why? because suddenly tv stations and schdredulars will have no power whatsoever. The only equation would be..."Is this show worth my $1-2 ?" Good shows would servive. Obbessive fanbases would support shows that tv stations dont want to pay for.
Why yes, Mr Henson, I would pay £5 for an eppisode of Farscape, thank you )

But in short:
The current TV inferstructure sucks. The money we pay is too far removed from the enjoyment.

Ok, I will wait...

There IS still good tv though (Lost, etc.), but most of the good TV shows are cancelled.

You always make the future seem so bright Darkflame, well I sure hope time won't prove you wrong.

Oh, sure theres still lots of great TV shows...but a good TV show staying on tv, or getting canceled seems completely pot luck at the moment

The move to internet tv is really happening, allthough you can bet their will be huge resistance from the current distrubters. Middle Men dont like being cut out.

Things arnt ideal yet..the first really working system is I-tunes, and (like with thier music) the actualy producers still only get a tiny percent.

But google video blows it wide open. Networks can put stuff up, but so can *anyone*. If your company that has made a show you suddenly have a way to distribute and get a huge majority of the revenue.
You wouldnt not put the show on normal tv, but you would keep hold of the internet distribution rights yourself

It wont happen fast though, my bet is:
1. First old shows will start appearing.
2. Then anything in sydication. There really is very little reasons "why not" to distrubute this way. Farscape fans are already asking henson to put a few eppisodes up for sale, we will see how thatgoes.
3. New, original big budget tv will the the last, only when the user-base is large enough for decent income.

The future is bright...as time goes on, historicaly, more and more "middle men" have been cut out of society. This leads too an increase in efficiancy and better lives for everyone.
Its a slow process, but it gets to everything sooner or late

And the future is bright.
The future is augmented

Friends - (comedy) - Everybody knows Friends, but it still deserves a review after I just finished watching the entire series. Friends is not the kind of show I would usually get hooked into, but on the other hand, I did. We have 6 friends in their 20's, 3 guys and 3 girls... none of them is exactly "normal", but they're all pretty likable and each of them is an extremely funny character in his/her own special way. For 10 seasons they come across the most stupid and pointless situations, get in love with each other, break up, get together again, getting married and get divorced, move away to another country then regret it and get back... seems pretty stupid no? I guess it is... so why do I like it so much? I suppose seeing something so sweetish in American way, seeing such loveable characters and thinking "I would like to be where they are" gives me a nice tweak in a way. Oh and, did I mention it's funny? Gave me some good laughs and smiles, and 10 seasons was exactly the right quantity of episodes for me. So the bottom line is, although it's nothing like the shows I usually watch I enjoyed it very much, and seeing those 10 seasons was a really nice experience. And I am definitely not the one who would enjoy watching any stupid American comedy.

Friends started sucking from the 6th season (or perhaps the 7th).
They started recycling jokes, inventing new character traits and over emphasizing old ones just to make new jokes.
I simply stopped watching from the 9th season.

It did change, but it never sucked imo. I liked the first seasons the best as well, but the last ones we not all that bad either.
Darkflame: Yeah, a little and it's a shame. But saying "soap" is just too extreme.
