I think the Fan section should just explain what the item does, without mentioning Twinsen at all. Just as if anyone else would use it. Notice that I wrote "the person using it" rather than "Twinsen".

And how can you not relate the Wizard's Parade to Chedil Amiradoo and the School of Magic?

Nice avatar.

I`ll change it if I have the time. sorry. I`m just a human, I can forget!

OOh sorry, too late.
create in your mind this with it:
umbrella:"An umbrella costs 35 Zlitos

wizard`s diploma:"A wizard`s diploma costs 40 Zlitos
and of course the links to Chedil and the School of Magic.

wizard`s parade tunic: School of Magic and Chedil.

wacko>Could you please at this to it. I looked at morshem`s advice and could you so also please change Twinsen in the [fan] to something that could be used for anybody. Thanx.

Wannie`s Glove

[official]

Old mosquibee
Quote:
Ah, Twinsen!! With the arrival of these paratroopers, I am afraid to see our fragement might fall into the hands of the emperor. By the way, if you know how to throw back the balls of fire with your hands, try to grab some.
Wannie at entrance of the Village of the Wannies:
Quote:
I`m in a bind, I`ve lost my glove somewhere in the mine. With it, I can catch the pieces of lava and the balls of fire, I can even pitch them back. Everybody has one, to extract gems.
Wannie somewhere in the mine:
Quote:
Hmmf! Lost my glove somewhere in the mine. Now I can`t reach into the lava to grab up the gems.
A grateful Wannie:
Quote:
Here, as a token of my gratitude, I`m giving you this glove. It protects us from fire and lets us get gems out of the molten lava without burning up.
When receiving the Wannie`s Glove:
Quote:
You just found a Wannie`s Glove. Use it to repell the fireballs your ennemies throw at you.
Inventory description:
Quote:
With this Wannie`s glove, you can now touch the fire. This will allow you to throw back the fireballs that the monsters from the gas hurl at you.
[fan]
The wannie`s glove isn`t actually mend to be a weapon. It gives the person who wears it protection against fire or lava.

[role]
This weapon can only be used if the enemy throws fireballs. Therefor, the wannie`s glove isn`t effective against much ennemies. With the wannie`s glove Twinsen can throw the fireballs back. He only need it once. For receiving the mosquibee fragment, he has to deafeat a monster from the gas. This walruslike monster from the gas can ONLY be defeated with the wannie`s glove. The best way is starting to use it when the monster from the gas is preparing himself and raises his head.

Emperor`s Sword

[official]

When receiving the Emperor`s Sword:
Quote:
You just seized the emperor`s sword. Now you can face the hussars guarding the Emperor`s palace.
Inventory description:
Quote:
With the emperor`s sword, you can now face the hussars of the imperial guard.
[statistics]
Effective against:every enemy who shoots fireballs
Firing rate:
Damage per hits:
Range:

[fan]
The emperor`s sword first belonged to the emperor. It is one of the mightiest weapons.

[role]
After the death of the emperor, who will give a key, Twinsen can get the emperor`s sword. Its way of using, just as the Magic Ball, changes with the behavior.
Normal: Twinsen just hits the enemy by walking forward and cutting.
Sporty: Twinsen jumps back once and then jumps back forwards to hit the enemy.
Aggresive: Twinsen acts extremer than in Normal mode and also jumps and turns a couple of times to the enemy.
Discreet: Twinsen uses the emperor`s sword as silent as possible. He also acts the least aggresive.
Twinsen can directly test it on the guard who comes down the elevator. This is the only weapon which can defeat the guards at the palace to come in.

When receiving the Memory Viewer:

Inventory description:

The memory viewer allows you to review the sequences which have punctuated your adventure.
[fan]
The memory viewer views certain experiences in your life.

[role]
Twinsen doesn`t need it, it`s more of an extra. It views the movies he experienced earlier in the game. It views 29 movies from the 33 at the most. Twinsen can find it in Baldino`s house when the Esmers patrol the streets or in he can buy it from the shop on Otringal.

I know you don't have LBA 1, but the Emperor's Sword is also somehow related to FunFrock's Sabre, isn't it?

I always thought the Emperor`s Swordm was the LBA2 version of FunFrock`s Sabre, but since I don`t have LBA1, I don`t know what to write. Do you have LBA1? Can you tell me a little about F`S.

Slice of Firefly Tart

[official]

Wannie-woman:
Quote:
Hello. Won`t you come in and share a meal?
Quote:
So? How do you like my firefly tart?
Arno:
Quote:
I fish fireflies used to bake tarts. It`s awfully good you know, a firefly tart.
Old Wannie:
Quote:
Hey, pal! Say, if you bring me back a slice of tart, I`ll tell you a pretty wacky secret.
When receiving the Slice of Firefly Tart:
Quote:
You just found a slice of tart
Inventory description:
Quote:
You don`t like this tart, but you must give it to someone who appreciates it more than you.
[fan]
The Firefly Tart is a food product made and eaten by the Wannies. It is made from the fireflies which are easily found on their island.

[role]
Twinsen has to talk to the priest of the Wannies about how to go to the island of the mosquibees. Unfortunately, the door to the chapel where the priest is, is locked. Twinsen hears the old Wannie has it, but he won`t give it until Twinsen brings him a slice of firefly tart. Twinsen goes to a Wannie-family who just wanted to eat. They ask if he wants to come share their meal. Twinsen takes a slice of the tart for the old Wannie who then gives Twinsen the key to the chapel.

Here goes........ lots of adding to do

I'll probably add/edit a lot underway.

First general comment: don't mention the games too much. Not like "this is something you can get in LBA2", it should actually more feel like a real encyclopedia than a guide to the game.

Also, "Twinsen" stating as related is a bit useless... _everything_ is related with Twinsen.

As I said before with Fireball's articles: go into details if necessary, but keep it general. Don't write about too detailed/specific things while missing the most important, general things of a subject.

What about pictures?
As well as an official picture of the item, maybe we should have a piece of fan art to go with it as well.
(especialy since some official things will be very low-res)

Darkflame: http://wacko.free.fr/lba/images.php
Only thing to do is to actually link them to the articles. Every article will have related images at the bottom of the page with thumbnails.

A new folder there with fan art could be done... but I'd like to keep it only official for now. Mainly because the webspace is getting to small...

How only allowing "fan art" to be external links?
Fan art is likely to be larger then official art, so I think it would be best to store it elsewere.

Hmm...... I'd like to have everything on the same space, as it then gets indexed automatically and it's easier to link them to the articles and add descriptions.

Besides, I don't think there would really be need for fan made images. Most official images are already pretty large, or at least detailed enough.

Another comment to Twinsal: [fan] is not [role]

I didn`t make statistics with the weapons, sorry.

How can I see screenshots of the game? If I made them I don`t know how to open them in MSpaint.

What do you mean with fan and role? Can you explain where and what I did wrong?

If you don`t like the texts then you can change them untill their good enough if you want to.

And about Twinsen at the Darts, I didn`t knew how to make a link so I tried it then with Twinsen., coz he was the only one I could think of with the darts. Take it away if you want.

I added everything now, having edited most of the articles.

[fan] = a general description of the subject, by preference not related to Twinsen, but just general
[role] = what this subject's function was in Twinsen's adventures

That's not the same, see. You seem to have confused them now and then.

Screenshots of the games can be found in the images directory. Why?

I'll add the stats myself, not much work.

Not really, most inventory items are pretty low res.
Allthough I confese, I'm bias here because theres loads of ideas I've got for item-related artwork.

To be honest Im disapointed in the way this enclopedia is going.
The systems working wondefully, but its all information taking from the game.
I was hopeing for something a little more interesting.
I was thinking fan discriptions with a little more "history" or ideas in them, rather then rephrasing what is already knowen.
This should be a enclopedia of Twinsun, not of lba.

No, I didn`t mean that. I mean, I can make screenshots of the game (if i ever be able to post them and you need some I will) but how can I show them out the game? In MSPaint.

Where did I confuse them?

third time: do you need things about chars. and locs. too? And how must they look?

about your site, I believe you forgot Pat, a quetche in LBA2 and Mrs. Brune, a rabbibunnette in LBA2. Just trying to help.

That's true... but it's not bad to have some steady, official data already. Everything can be edited/altered, anything can be added.

While it was meant to be a guide to the worlds, it's hard to prevent to write about Twinsen's role with it (hence I implented [role]). And sometimes referring to "LBA" is just easy.

Twinsal: sure, all articles are welcome. They should have the same layout as the others, see the first page for the order or [subtitles].

Screenshots of LBA2 (with F9) are placed in the Save\Screenshots dir (if I remember correctly). They're in PCX format, if you can't open those with Paint you'll have to open/convert them with an other program, like Paint Shop Pro.

Fab is already in, I'll add Mrs. Brune. Thanks

Forgive me. I`m not on my brightest since....a while. I ment Pat, just changed it. I`m goind to meditate some more, maybe that`ll help.

(oh yeah, on your site he`s called Arno, but I remember him being called Johny?)

Just checked your site, it is really gooooood and easy in use. My compliments. (btw Brune isn`t the teacher but the one who works in the ticketshop at the harbor on Citadel Island)

Tomorrow I`ll write everything I know about the fragments and the reunited version.

morshem>great but could you tell me which locs you had in mind? Coz I also go write about some and rather don`t want to work for something another already has done.

wacko>about the garden balsam flower, morshem did a great job with it but about his theory....Couldn`t it be the other wizards already have picked other gbfs on other places on Desert Island and Twinsen took the last? And who says they only grow on Desert Island?

And about the Darts. I can be wrong but did you say they don`t do any damage? Well how about: crabs, birds, snakes, bats, cactus and carbage can dressed Sups and the Parkwarden at Temple Park, Tralü and his buddies, Giant spider?

I`m not sure but I believe the owner of the bar on the Island of the Francos is called Franckie.

Francos Fragment

Franco saleswoman:
Quote:
Since everybody started looking for our fragment, I`ve turned the bazaar into a treasure hunter`s shop.
Roger de la Fontaine`s brother:
Quote:
Roger de la Fontaine, he was my brother. He was the local burgermaster you know, who was responsible for our fragment. Roger, he kept hiding the fragment somewhere without telling anyone, untill the accident...Pity he was eaten by a monster from the gas.
Twinsen:
Quote:
And today nobody knows where the heck the fragment is. That`s why everybody is digging all over the place!! But why didn`t he leave any notes?
Franco fragment hunter near Franckie`s:
Quote:
I`m certain our fragment is buried here. Obviously, must be hidden under the grass. I mean the burgermaster couldn`t have buried it under the rock, am I right?
Valentin:
Quote:
This Roger de la Fontaine, he used to go pretty close to the gas. Could well be where he hid it, our fragment!!
Kurtz:
Quote:
Taking the size of the island, its geological structure and wind direction into account. I have concocted a potion which should allow me to precisely determine the location of the fragment! Unfortunately...I uh, lost the vial.
Baby-sitter:
Quote:
Because of this lost fragment nonsense, everyone is looking for it. So they leave their little rug rats with me all day long. They just don`t stop bawling...I`m going to look for another job soon.
Drunk, colourful Franco:
Quote:
Yeah it`s pretty serious, this here story!! It better be found this er...fragment. `Cause no fragment, no ceremony, and no paradise!! Bah, I don`t give it a hoot, I`ve got myself a vineyard...Come on, mister, just a snort?
Franckie:
Quote:
You have to be crazy to believe all these stories of fragment hunting. me, I think Roger lost it at home before getting eaten by a monster. What are you gonna do?, at least its good for business.
When receiving the Franco Fragment:
Quote:
You now own the Francos key fragment.
Inventory description:
Quote:
This fragment of the Franco`s key is one of the elements which will permit you to piece together the key to Dark Monk`s temple.
[fan]
The francos` fragment is one of the four fragments which together summon Dark Monk`s statue to complete the ceremony. This will turn Zeelich back in its original look after 10.000 ceremonies. The francos` fragment is the red "right" piece of Dark Monk`s key.

[role]
Twinsen had to find the francos` fragment. Unfortunately the only one knowing where it was, was eaten by a monster. Thanks to a couple of tips, Twinsen found the burgermaster`s key and used it to get the burgermaster`s notes. After following the instructions on it, Twinsen came on a place behind the bazaar. There he had to use the pick-ax to dig the fragment up.

Twinsen had to find the wannies` fragment. it lied somewhere in the mine protected by a huge guard. After killing the guard, Twinsen received a key in. In there, it looked like dark Monk`s chapel but then with a fragment. After taking the fragment, Twinsen had to fight his way out because the Wannies in the mine wanted their fragment back.

Inventory description:
Quote:
This fragment of the Sups`key is one of the elements which will permit you to piece together the key to Dark Monk`s temple.
[fan]
The sups`fragment is one of the four fragments which together summon Dark Monk`s statue to complete the ceremony. This will turn back Zeelich in its original look after 10.000 ceremonies. The sups` fragment is the blue "under" piece of Dark Monk`s key.

[role]
Twinsen had to find the sups` fragment. He wasn`t able to reach it because it lied in the emperor`s palace which was heavily guarded. After killing the emperor, Twinsen got the emperor`s sword which he needed to fight his way to the fragment. After defeating 3 guards in the last room he had only to defeat a
two-headed monster in order to get the key to the fragment. Twinsen received the fragment and had to fight his way outside to complete the prophecy.
