LBA2 might be losing its magic!

the more i play LBA2, the more it has lost the magic since the first time i played it. i can't describe it, but it just doesn't feel the same. i hope that LBA3 or TP will do the same. What do you guys think? i posted a poll on what you PREDICT will happen. this is in no way a fact if the community votes one way, i just wanted an opinion.

btw: mods, delete the threads called 'LBA2 is losing it's magic!' and 'LBA2 has lost the magic!'. they messed up while i was making them.

If u have that problem, then don't play it for awhile. The first time feeling never comes back but at least the second time feeling.

Lba 2 is losing it's magic a bit because when you replay a game, you know more or less what's coming. The first time I play a game it feels better than the second time because it's fresh and new.

But Lba 2 is still a great game.

If you play through a game too frequently, it becomes 'usual', so it's not exciting anymore. In other words, it gets boring, and so losing it's 'magic'.
There's no way to prevent it, every game will have this. It depends on your own playing behaviour whether a game gets boring or not when replaying it.

if you replay it, you will know exactly know what happens. The game's world will seem less like a real world in which anything can happen, and more like a linear story.

I've decided not to play it for some years, and then see if I get that feeling again

Well, all games lose their magic with time.
So do books, and movies.
It's really sad

Replaying=knowing=losing magic.

That's about all the previous posts summed up and my opinion, too.

I QUITE disagree with you. IMHO, LBA 2 just gets better every time I play it.

Or is it just me being weird?

Well, if you would replay it every time possible, no matter how complex the game is, it will get boring.

Well, I don't play it that often, but when I do play, I tink every single time: "wow, what an amazing game! "

Twinsen LBA2

I have played LBA2 nearly everyday since I discovered this forum, but once upon a time, I had to make a longer break to try my other games for a change
I agree that LBA2 has lost it's magic after playing it so many times, but there is still many new hints to try, and I can clearly remember that magical feeling the first times I played LBA2 in 1999.

I really don't think it's losing any magic at all!

For me it doesn't lose his magic fast enough to be noticable: if I should play it more then I do at the moment the magic would lessen. Now the "chocolate feeling" (I don't like chocolate te be true) it is more like a sinus-function, going down when I just finished it, going up when I don't play it for some time.

Hm, I've just finished LBA2 again. And although I knew everything in the storyline, it was still interesting to play, cause I haven't played it for several months. Even if it doesn't pump adrenaline, it's great to watch it again. I think the magic you mention is always there but it just has less effect.
Anyway, the game's great - does this statement need any comments or arguments?

All games have to loose their magic.

Can anyone possibly say that they had the EXACT same feeling when playing lba2 for the 2/3rd as in when they played is for the 1st time?

Razor? Where the hell have you been all this time? Still having dreams about Twinsen sitting in his armchair?

*GASP* you don't like chocolate?!?!?!

i'm not sure what you mean by 'sinus-function' (because i'm not very bright...), and when you speak of 'going down' and 'coming back up', do you mean the chocolate chip cookie? or have you been eating LBA2?

Hm, is that a form of gladness? Or is it a scolding?
Well, to make it funnier: I think I dreamt of lba3. The graphics were great and the islands were really big. It's a shame I couldn't take screenshots ('cannot salvage from a dream')
