The government on Twinsun

I've just asked me the question :

Who is/are at the head of an eventual government on Twinsun in LBA2???
The wizards have a main role in LBA2, Is it a political role or only magician role or both???

What's your mind about this?

I think they had a bad experience from FunFrock's rule, and therefore decided not to have any government at all. However, this didn't prove very successfull either, as the whole planet needed one hero in order to stop the esmers. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how it's like in LBA 3.

I believe that Twinsun has a Democcracy government to to several reasons... Firstly: The people are not unhappy, yet seem to charge tax (hoew elese do you explain the gigh life cost) There is also competition between buisnesses (Life points cheaper at Heicenda than at Store) however, there is also believed to be black market activity, showing that perhaps it is a communist government (The travelling wizard salesman) Twinsun also has some siversity between the islands, and some islands such as Desert Island, have products that Citadel Island does not (Balsam, the oil thing needed for map) and therefore, Citadel Island must import them, in return, Citadel Island exports different products, such as... Weather Wizards, and, even though Desert Island does have wizards, no one knows where they are, because the school of magic is hidden... Also, they must export corpses, since they have no grave yard on Citadel Island. However, corpses and weather wizards (or their services) must not make much money, so Citadel Island also exports Rosa (and her services ) To equal the balance. Due to the whole thought-throughedness of the import-export system, I believe Twinsun has a Democratic government

(Bless anyone who read that whole post )

OK, but what has that got to do with government? Who rules the planet?

I feel as though democracy is the most likely result for Twinsunian government. With a system of local island governers and an overall system binding them together such as a council like the UN where the island leaders can discuss various issues like i dunno... duties of the local weather wizards. Each island could have different details in their laws depending on what is socially acceptable within the different island cultures. (long winded i know, but i wanted to make everone understood)

LBA1 was a dictatorship (Ne pas de merde, Pandy )

LBA2, something like a democracy I guess. I think Sendell was like the highest minister... and then the wizards sort of mini-ministers...... or something.

LBA1 was obviously a dictatorship...it almost seemed like a representation of the dictator rule in russia...minus the hero saving the day...

LBA2 is anarchy, i guess...if someone commits a crime, twinsen kicks their ass? i dunno...no police showed up when the umbrella was stolen, and it was solved by twinsen...but i dunno...heres my two cents

There is no evidence of a government in LBA2.
in fact, there seems to be no government at all.

The government could be on one of the islands not in the game.

It could be, but there don't seem to be any things on Twinsun that suggest a governemnt, such as police, public transportation, a mayor or governour of Citadel- and Desert Island.
So I think they don't have one.

Either way, we can't be absolutely sure.

You're right, except they don't need public transportation. Twinsen can cross the whole island in like 5 minutes.

Well, there is no reason to believe there is a government,
except for the fact that people have jobs.
Who pays the neighbour's son for working in the sewers??
Exactly, it makes no sense. So don't bother thinking.

Maybe so, but I believe Vultures was referring to government as we know it.

I agree with Atresica in that it might something beyond our expectations towards the type of government. To me, it seems like a controlled anarchy. That is, an anarchy in which they are organized in buissiness, economy, law and city stability. I mean, there is no police and seemingly (after FF falls from power) no government representative.

It would seem as if the people of Twinsun are willingly living in peace and cooperation, under a system of anarchy.

It seems like an impossible way of life, but maybe this is the part we can't comprehand.

Now, that's nerdism in its purest form:
We're discussing a computer game and its plot holes, knwoing that the creators didn't even think about all these things, and that Twinsen isn't even real.
this will probably be Atre's repsonse...

Everybody needs a little nerdism in their life. It brings out the creative, intelligent side of people.

Anarchy is always a possibility, but I think that with people, no matter who they are cannot live in true anarchy. We know that there is still crime on Twinsun at the time of LBA2 so someone needs to control it. Oh, and by the way I think we all know very well what is truth and what is fantasy. This is an interesting thread in my opinion and you Morshem should not be one to judge, you paticipated as much as any of us.
